    (57) A color image forming apparatus having a function of forming a mono-color image based on a full-color image data inputted includes: highest-value image data outputting circuit (50) for comparing the values of color image data of three primary colors constituting the full-color image data to output a color image data having a highest value thereamong; and mono-color image forming portion for forming a predetermined mono-color image based on the output of the highest-value image data outputting circuit.
