The present invention relates to a blast and splinter-proof device, a so-called blast canister (3, 6), intended to screen off and protect its surroundings against the detonation forces and possible splinters from detonating charges by, on the one hand, absorbing them itself and, on the other hand, deflecting them in that direction most favourable to the surroundings, i.e. in the majority of cases in an upward direction.
