    (54) Novel device for selective magnetization and method


    (57) A selective magnetic device made up of a diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) (of which Pb-chalcogenides and CdHgMnTe alloys are examples) with an extrinsic conductivity type, an insulator layer or p-n junction with means to impress a voltage in a magnitude sufficient to achieve a critical semiconductor carrier concentration.
