    (54) Paper tray selection in a printer


    (57) A printer connected onto a network including a housing body (1) accommodating therein a printing mechanism (2, 3, 4) of an electrophotograph system, a plurality of trays (9, 10; 110) arranged vertically on an upper portion of the housing body (1), a locking structure (118) for locking at least one of the trays (110) to the housing body (1), means (16, 17) for changing a paper feeding path for printed papers which are fed out of the printing mechanism (2, 3, 4) to connect to a selected tray (10) when there is produced a secret preservation command, and means (30) for comparing a password input from the outside with a password which is previously recorded and releasing the locking mechanism (118) if the input password coincides with the recorded password.
