    (54) Child resistant box

    (57) A child resistant box, more particularly a matchbox, comprising an outer sleeve (2) and an inner tray (3), the tray (3) being slidable relative to the sleeve (2) to open or close the box. The sleeve (2) has a section (5) secured to the tray (3) by a hot melt adhesive. The section (5) may be separated from the remainder of the sleeve (2) by folding two side portions (B) of the section (5) along fold lines (8) by gripping cut-outs (7) to break serrations (6) joining the section (5) to the remainder of the sleeve (2). To slide the sleeve relative to the tray the section (5) is deformed inwardly to release it from the aperture in the sleeve formed by separation of the section (5).
The section (5) may be completely removed from the box by ripping it from the underside of the tray.
