    (54) Crosstalk detecting apparatus

    (57) This invention relates to a crosstalk detecting apparatus for detecting crosstalk which possibly occurs when reading an image signal which has been FM-modulated and recorded on a recording medium, and more specifically, a crosstalk detecting apparatus which derives an amount of crosstalk from an adjacent track based on a signal read by a pickup in a simple construction. The cross-talk detecting apparatus according to the present invention is adapted to detect crosstalk during a period in which an identification signal recorded on a medium is being read therefrom, and comprises an FM-demodulator (1) for demodulating a signal read from the medium, an AM-demodulator (2) for reading the signal read from the medium, a multiplier circuit (4) for multiplying a signal outputted from the FM-demodulator (1) with a signal outputted from the AM-demodulator (3) and an averaging circuit (6) for averaging output values of the multiplier circuit (4).
