[0001] The present invention relates to a bedstead of the type comprising several longitudinal
and transverse members, a plurality of elements resting on ground, several different
accessories to be associated with the bed, for example a slidable drawer, a headboard
and the like.
[0002] It is known that in resting beds the presence of at least a mattress is provided
which is disposed on a spring support structure consisting for example of springs
or a plurality of laths or staves disposed consecutively in side by side relation,
suitably engaged to a perimetric frame in turn provided with supporting elements resting
on ground.
[0003] In most cases, these supporting elements are directly fastened to the bedframe at
predetermined locations, by welding or threaded elements optionally acting through
anchoring plates welded to the frame angles.
[0004] In other cases, each supporting element is provided, at one end, with a clamp member
locked to the perimetric frame.
[0005] Yet in other cases, the perimetric frame is disposed in and supported by a housing
suitably defined along the inner perimetric extension of an outer finish bed structure
generally consisting of wooden panels also accomplishing the function of supporting
elements resting on ground.
[0006] From NL - A - 281 555 it is known a bedstead comprising a perimetric frame formed
by a section member extended according to longitudinal and transverse directions.
[0007] The section member comprises a first flat upper surface having at one end a vertical
wall extending downwardly and at the opposite end a bent portion.
[0008] A plurality of strips is connected with hooks to the bent portion to obtain a supporting
surface for a mattress.
[0009] The section member comprises under the upper surface a first groove between the bent
portion and a sloped surface followed by a straight surface parallel to the vertical
wall.
[0010] A second flat surface, distanced apart from the upper flat surface, is placed between
the vertical wall and the straight surface, both curved to form a second longitudinal
groove.
[0011] The bedposts are connected to the section member by bolts introduced into the second
groove and corresponding holes of a flange of each bolt.
[0012] The fixing of the bedposts is made by nuts screwed under the flanges and around the
stems of each bolts.
[0013] There is also a tendency to associate drawers and the like with the bed at a position
underneath the bedstead, for example resorting to drawers sliding on the floor by
means of appropriate rollers enabling them to be extracted for introducing various
objects thereinto, such as garments, linen, underclothes, books, magazines, tape recorders,
cushions or pillows, suitcases and others.
[0014] Other solutions are also provided which envisage the use of headboards or still other
accessories.
[0015] It has been found that for applying to a bedstead several supporting elements resting
on ground (in the following referred to as bedposts) and several removable accessories
of the above type while making the bedstead of easy assembling and avoiding the whole
structure being made heavy, it is possible to resort to at least one section member
to be transversely associated with the other structural portions of the bedstead in
which a base surface is provided to be made by extrusion, which base structure has,
at the lower part thereof, means for connection to the bedposts and terminates at
least at one extremity with a vertical wall carrying a grooved seating designed to
guide one drawer. In addition, the configuration of the section member end is selected
such as to form an angular portion that, suitably provided on the base surface with
opposite consecutive hollows, is adapted to receive an accessory in the first hollow
and means for connection to other parts of the bedstead in the other hollow and at
the same time, by virtue of the undulations resulting from the consecutive hollows
and the presence of the vertical wall is designed to stiffen the section member thereby
enabling it to withstand the drawer weight as well as the weight of its contents both
in the closed position and in anyone of all possible open positions in succession.
[0016] In particular the invention relates A bedstead comprising at least two longitudinal
members , two transverse members, a plurality of staves the ends of which are associated
with the longitudinal members for supporting a mattress or the like, several bedposts
for keeping the bedstead raised a given height from ground, at least one extruded
section member forming one of the said two transverse members directed transversely
to the longitudinal members, said section member comprising a base surface terminating
at least at one end with a vertical wall extending downwardly, a groove in said section
member for receiving and guiding said bedposts, said groove being disposed underneath
said base surface and extending longitudinally at a substantially middle location,
said bedstead being characterised in that it comprises :
a) a pair of consecutive hollows extending longitudinally and located at the opposite
sides of the base surface close to the vertical wall, the first one of said hollows
facing upwardly being designed to receive one accessory , whereas the second hollow
facing downwardly is designed to receive fastening means for connection between the
section member and a longitudinal member perpendicular thereto in one and the same
plane;
b) a grooved seating formed lengthwise in the vertical wall for slidably guiding a
drawer ; the undulations originated from the hollows opposing each other close to
the vertical wall forming an angular stiffened portion capable of withstanding the
drawer weight and the weight of the drawer contents at any possible position of the
drawer.
[0017] In accordance with a preferential solution, the bedstead is characterized in that
the extruded section member comprises, at the lower part thereof, a third hollow symmetric
with the second hollow with respect to the centre of the base surface for housing
fastening means connecting the section member to a longitudinal member perpendicular
thereto.
[0018] Still preferentially all hollows in the lower base surface have the same depth.
[0019] In a further preferred embodiment the extruded section member is delimited by two
vertical walls.
[0020] In a preferential solution the width of the base surface is included between 5 and
15 mm and is for example 8 mm wide, the length between two longitudinal portions is
included between 400 and 950 mm and may reach 1900 mm when a single crosspiece for
double bed is concerned, the thickness of the base surface and the vertical wall being
in the range of 1.5 to 4 mm, for example 2 mm.
[0021] Preferentially the extremity of the base surface comprising the region of the opposite
hollows takes a portion of the base surface included between 25% and 40%.
[0022] The present invention in another aspect provides A device for connecting bedposts
to a perimetric bedframe, comprising at least one extruded section member provided
with a base and at least one guide groove, engagement means associated with at least
one bedpost and operatively associable with the guide groove for removably fastening
the bedpost to the extruded section member at a desired location on the longitudinal
extension of said section member, characterized in that it comprises:
- said extruded section member exhibiting, in cross-section, a substantially inverted-U
configuration, defined by said base forming a substantially horizontal portion from
which two substantially parallel end portions extend downwardly,
- stiffening means arranged on said base portion defining at least said guide groove
(16) extending longitudinally to the extruded section member,
- a pair of consecutive hollows extending longitudinally and located at the opposite
sides of the base surface close to the vertical wall, the first one of said hollows
facing upwardly being designed to receive one accessory , whereas the second hollow
facing downwardly is designed to receive fastening means for connection between the
section member and a longitudinal member perpendicular thereto in one and the same
plane and for rigidly engaging the extruded section member to a perimetric bedframe.
[0023] Also provided at least at one of said end portions is at least one grooved seating
arranged to operatively engage one accessory element, consisting of a drawer for example.
[0024] At the upper part of said base portion of the extruded section member at least a
second grooved seating is also preferably formed; it extends along the section member
itself and is arranged to operatively engage at least a second accessory element,
consisting for example of an end portion of a support structure for a mattress, associated
with said perimetric frame.
[0025] In greater detail, the second grooved seating has a circular profile broken at the
upper part thereof by an access opening designed to receive, according to a predetermined
orientation, a pivot element fixedly connected to the second accessory and exhibiting
a substantially circular element broken by a pair of parallel rectilinear portions,
disposed symmetrically and spaced apart an amount slightly lower than the width of
said access opening, said pivot element being designed to be angularly rotated within
the second grooved seating for engaging the second accessory to the extruded section
member with possibility of oscillation through a predetermined angle.
[0026] Preferentially, the first and second grooved seatings are formed at a thickness swelling
of the section member, defined close to the intersection between said base portion
and the end portion carrying the first grooved seating.
[0027] Still in accordance with a preferred embodiment, said guide and stiffening means
comprises a pair of primary wings disposed parallelly side by side and projecting
downwardly from the base portion of the section member, as well as at least one pair
of opposite wings projecting towards each other from said primary wings to give the
guide groove a substantially T-shaped configuration.
[0028] In turn, the engagement means comprises, for each bedpost, a connecting rod carrying
a shaped head conforming to the shape of the main guide groove and, on the opposite
side from said head, a threaded portion operatively engaging in a threaded collar
coaxially carried by said bedpost.
[0029] The fastening means comprises, for each extremity of said extruded section member,
at least one threaded pin extending across a through opening formed on the base portion
of the section member, and exhibiting, at one end, a substantially quadrangular head
to be removably fitted into a T-shaped groove afforded by said bedframe by means of
a fastening nut to be screwed on the threaded pin and acting against said extruded
section member.
[0030] Said through opening preferably consists of an elongated hole extending longitudinally
to the extruded section member.
[0031] In a preferential solution, each fastening nut acts against the ends of a pair of
reinforcing wings disposed parallelly side by side and projecting downwardly from
the base portion of the extruded section member so as to define at least one additional
guide groove therealong, across which said threaded fastening pins extend.
[0032] The extruded section member also has at least one pair of closure portions extending
parallelly to the base portion for connecting the primary wing ends to the corresponding
ends of the reinforcing wings disposed alongside the primary wings.
[0033] Said closure portions define corresponding abutment surfaces for an upper end of
the bedpost.
[0034] Each bedpost advantageously comprises an extruded tubular section member having an
outer tubular portion and an inner collar disposed coaxially and mutually interconnected
by at least three circumferentially distributed radial walls.
[0035] Preferably associated with the bedframe are at least two of said extruded section
members respectively parallel and disposed in mirror image relationship at respective
opposite ends of the bedframe itself.
[0036] Further features and advantages will become more apparent from the detailed description
of a preferred embodiment of a device for connecting bedposts to a perimetric bedframe,
in accordance with the present invention. Said description will be given hereinafter
by way of non-limiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
- Fig. 1 is a fragmentary sectional view taken, as shown by line I-I in Fig. 2, longitudinally
to a bedstead with which the device of the invention is associated;
- Fig. 2 is a section taken along line II-II in Fig. 1;
- Fig. 3 is a section taken along line III-III in Fig. 1.
[0037] The invention mainly refers to a bedframe comprising an extruded section member disposed
transversely to two longitudinal members.
[0038] The section member in its most general form consists of a base surface having a vertical
wall in which a grooved seating for guiding a drawer is formed, inside which drawer
a great variety of objects can be stored, being distributed over the whole bottom
surface and often originating all together a rather important load weighing for example
20 kg and even much more.
[0039] The section member close to the vertical wall comprises two longitudinally extending
hollows one of which faced upwardly functions as a grooved seating useful to receive
an accessory and the other faced downwardly functions as a grooved guide for receiving
fastening pins engaging the section member to the longitudinal members.
[0040] In the middle of the lower base surface there is a groove formed with two wings the
task of which is to guide the bedposts designed to bear the bedframe raised from the
floor.
[0041] Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, a device for connecting the bedposts to the perimetric
bedframe in accordance with the present invention has been generally identified by
reference numeral 1.
[0042] The device 1 is associated with a conventional perimetric bedframe 2, only represented
in its essential parts to the ends of the present invention. The bedframe 2 comprises
parts widely described in the Italian patent application MI92A 001160 filed on same
date in the name of the same applicant. The bedframe comprises a plurality of tubular
section members 3 only one of which has been partly represented, exhibiting each a
housing 4 in which, upon interposition of elastomeric inserts 4a, the ends of elastic
staves 5 disposed consecutively side by side are engaged, so as to define, as known,
a support structure for one or more mattresses not shown.
[0043] The foregoing being stated, the device 1 in an original manner comprises at least
an extruded section member 6, preferably made of an aluminium alloy and exhibiting,
as clearly shown in Fig. 1, a cross section substantially in the form of an inverted
U, defined by a base portion 7 forming a substantially horizontal surface from which
two substantially parallel end portions or walls 8 extend downwardly in a perpendicular
direction. In a preferential solution, two of said extruded section members 6 disposed
parallelly are provided and they are located at the opposite ends of the bedframe
2. Only one of said section members has been shown in the accompanying drawings, the
other section member being identical with the first one.
[0044] Each section member 6 is rigidly engaged to the perimetric bedframe 2 by fastening
means 9 preferably comprising, for each extremity of the section member, at least
a threaded pin 10 extending through an opening 11 formed on the base portion 7 of
the section member 6. The threaded pin 10 has a head 10a of substantially quadrangular
configuration, to be slidably housed in a T-shaped groove 12 exhibited at the lower
part of the tubular section member 3 forming the bedframe 2. The pin 10 can be therefore
positioned along the tubular section member 3 of the bedframe 2 and rigidly engaged
in the T-shaped groove 12 by tightening of a fastening nut 10b screwed down on the
pin and acting against the extruded section member 6, in order to cause the anchoring
of said section member 6 at any desired position along the frame 2. In a preferential
solution, as shown in Fig. 1, provision is made for two of said threaded pins 10 to
be associated with each extremity of the section member 6.
[0045] In accordance with a further feature of the invention, the openings 11 may consist
of elongated holes extending longitudinally of the section member 6, so as to enable
a precise adaptation of the positioning of said section member in the direction of
its longitudinal extension.
[0046] In greater detail, it is advantageously provided that each fastening nut 10b should
act in abutment against the ends of a pair of reinforcing wings 13 disposed parallelly
side by side and projecting downwardly from the base portion 7 of the section member
6 so as to define a hollow on the longitudinal extension of the section member, which
hollow forms an additional guide groove 14 across which the corresponding threaded
pin 10 extends.
[0047] Also formed on the base portion 7 of the extruded section member 6 is guide and stiffening
means 15 that not only enhances the bending and twisting stiffness of the section
member as a whole, but also defines at least one primary guide groove 16 along the
longitudinal extension of said section member at a substantially intermediate position.
In greater detail, said guide and fastening means 15 comprises a pair of main wings
17 disposed parallelly side by side and projecting downwardly from the base portion
7, as well as a pair of opposite wings 18 projecting perpendicularly from the main
wings 17, towards each other. In conclusion, the arrangement of the main wings 17
and opposite wings 18 gives the main guide groove 16 a substantially T-shaped configuration,
capable of operatively housing suitable engagement means 19 associated with one or
more bedposts 20 designed to be fastened under the extruded section members 6 for
supporting the frame 2 at an appropriate distance from the floor.
[0048] In a preferential solution, each bedpost 20 is made in the form of an extruded tubular
section member, consisting of an outer cylindrical tubular portion 21 and a collar
22 disposed in coaxial relation and interconnected by at least three radial walls
23, circumferentially distributed according to an angle of 120° from each other. The
engagement means 19 substantially comprises, for each bedpost 20, a connecting rod
24 extending between the opposite wings 18 and provided with a shaped head 24a of
substantially quadrangular conformation, the shape of which matches that of the main
guide groove 16 and which is slidably engageable along said groove. The connecting
rod 24 on the opposite side from the shaped head 24a also has a threaded end portion
24b operatively engaged within a thread 22a formed at the end of the threaded collar
22.
[0049] Therefore, the bedpost 20 can be advantageously set at any desired position along
the extruded section member 6 and subsequently fastened thereto by being merely rotated.
In fact, being the connecting rod 24 prevented from rotating by effect of the engagement
of the shaped head 24a into the main guide groove 16, the rotation of the bedpost
20 brings about the screwing of the collar 22 on the connecting rod. The bedpost 20
will be therefore locked against the extruded section member 6 by its upper end 20a.
[0050] In greater detail, the bedpost 20 is locked in abutment against the ends of the reinforcing
wings 13 and main wings 17, as shown in Fig. 1. Advantageously, in order to increase
the whole contact surface between the upper end 20a of the bedpost 20 and the extruded
section member 6, and further enhance the bending and twisting resistance of said
section member, closure portions 25 extending parallelly to the base portion 7 between
the ends of the main wings 17 and additional reinforcing wings 13 contiguous to the
first wings are provided. These closure portions 25 together with said main wings
17 and additional reinforcing wings 13 define two tubular portions of quadrangular
section.
[0051] In accordance with another feature of the present invention, the extruded section
member 6 at one at least of its end portions 8 exhibits one grooved seating 27 longitudinally
running along the section member and adapted to be used for operatively engaging at
least one accessory element 28 to the bedframe 2. In the embodiment shown, this first
accessory element 28 consists of a slidable drawer engaged along the extruded section
member 6. In greater detail, the drawer 28 has, on each of its sides, one or more
rollers 29, only one of which is visible, slidably guided along a rail section member
30 having a coupling portion 30a conformed to the shape of the first grooved seating
27 and engaging in an undercut defined in the grooved seating by a projecting coupling
lug 31 disposed in the extension of the end portion 8 of the extruded section member
6. The rail section member 30 also has, at the lower part thereof, a coupling seating
30b operatively engaged to the lower end of the corresponding end portion 8.
[0052] Obviously, the opposite drawer side will be slidably supported in the same manner
as above described.
[0053] In accordance with a further feature of the present invention, the extruded section
member 6 also has at least another hollow forming a second grooved seating 32 located
at the upper part of the base portion 7 and arranged to operatively engage at least
a second accessory 33 which, in the example shown, is represented by an adjustable
reclining end portion of the support structure defined by staves 5.
[0054] The second grooved seating 32 has a circular profile broken at the upper part thereof
by an access opening 32a of predetermined width, inside which a pivot element 34 can
be fitted, said pivot element being rotatably received in the coupling housing for
oscillatably engaging the end portion 33 to the bedframe 2 as a whole. In greater
detail, the pivot element 34 is integral with one end of a connecting wing 35 extending
obliquely from an anchoring plate 36 fastened to the end portion 33 and exhibits a
substantially circular profile the diameter of which substantially corresponds to
the diameter of the second grooved seating 32. The circular profile of the pivot element
34 is however broken by a pair of symmetrically opposite parallel rectilinear stretches
34a, at which the dimensions of the pivot element measured perpendicularly to the
rectilinear stretches themselves, are slightly lower than the width of the access
opening 32a.
[0055] Therefore, the pivot element 34 can be fitted through the access opening 32a according
to a predetermined angular orientation to which, in the example shown, a substantially
vertical orientation of the end portion 33 corresponds. Following a subsequent angular
rotation about its own axis, the pivot element 34 becomes rotatably engaged within
the second grooved seating 32, so that the end portion 33 is connected to the extruded
section member 6 with possibility of oscillation through a given angle. In particular,
with the aid of support struts of adjustable length, not shown as known per se and
not of importance to the ends of the invention, the end portion 33 will be able to
be fixed according to any angular positioning included between a condition of horizontal
alignment and a condition of substantially vertical orientation. The second grooved
seating 32 and pivot element 34, with the connecting wing 35 and anchoring plate 36
define all together a connecting device being the object of the Italian copending
patent application MI92A 001159 filed in the name of the same applicant, to which
please refer for further explanations.
[0056] Preferably, the first and second grooved seatings 27 and 32 are formed in the region
of a thickness swelling 37 exhibited by the section member 6 close to the intersection
between the base portion 7 and end portion 8 exhibiting the first grooved seating
27.
[0057] The invention achieves important advantages.
[0058] The device in question in fact enables the assembling of the bedposts to be carried
out in a very easy manner and also offers the possibility of positioning said bedposts
at any desired location. In fact, not only the bedposts can be individually fastened
to any point of the longitudinal extension of the corresponding extruded section member,
but the section member itself can be fastened to any point of the perimetric bedframe.
[0059] These possibilities are forbidded in the solutions of the known art where the connection
of the bedposts to the frame must take place at precise locations, resulting from
the position of the holes arranged to receive the threaded elements adapted to fasten
the bedposts.
[0060] In addition the bedframe comprises a section member that, by virtue of its particular
structure, also lends itself to accomplish a stiffening function as regards the bedstead
as a whole.
[0061] In addition, the bedstead in reference offers the original possibility of operatively
supporting different accessory elements that obviously can also be of a typology different
from those previously described.
[0062] The invention is not considered limited to the examples chosen for purposes of illustration,
and includes all changes and modifications which do not constitute a departure from
the true scope of this invention as claimed in the following claims. For example,
the section member could have one side wall 8 alone.
1. A bedstead comprising at least two longitudinal members (3), two transverse members,
a plurality of staves (5) the ends of which are associated with the longitudinal members
for supporting a mattress or the like, several bedposts (20) for keeping the bedstead
raised a given height from ground, at least one extruded section member (6) forming
one of the said two transverse members directed transversely to the longitudinal members,
said section member comprising a base surface terminating at least at one end with
a vertical wall (8) extending downwardly, a groove (16) in said section member for
receiving and guiding said bedposts (20), said groove (16) being disposed underneath
said base surface and extending longitudinally at a substantially middle location,
said bedstead being characterised in that it comprises :
a) a pair of consecutive hollows (32, 14) extending longitudinally and located at
the opposite sides of the base surface close to the vertical wall, the first one (32)
of said hollows facing upwardly being designed to receive one accessory (33), whereas
the second hollow (14) facing downwardly is designed to receive fastening means (9)
for connection between the section member and a longitudinal member perpendicular
thereto in one and the same plane;
b) a grooved seating (27) formed lengthwise in the vertical wall for slidably guiding
a drawer (28);
the undulations originated from the hollows opposing each other close to the vertical
wall forming an angular stiffened portion capable of withstanding the drawer weight
and the weight of the drawer contents at any possible position of the drawer.
2. A bedstead in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the extruded section
member comprises, at the lower part thereof, a third hollow symmetric with the second
hollow with respect to the centre of the base surface for housing fastening means
connecting the section member and a longitudinal member perpendicular thereto in the
same lying plane.
3. A bedstead according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said hollows have the
same depth.
4. A bedstead according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that said extruded section
member is delimited by two vertical walls.
5. A device for connecting bedposts to a perimetric bedframe, comprising at least one
extruded section member provided with a base and at least one guide groove (16), engagement
means (19) associated with at least one bedpost (20) and operatively associable with
the guide groove (16) for removably fastening the bedpost to the extruded section
member (6) at a desired location on the longitudinal extension of said section member,
characterized in that it comprises:
- said extruded section member (6) exhibiting, in cross-section, a substantially inverted-U
configuration, defined by said base forming a substantially horizontal portion (7)
from which two substantially parallel end portions (8) extend downwardly,
- stiffening means (15) arranged on said base portion (7) defining at least said guide
groove (16) extending longitudinally to the extruded section member (6),
- a pair of consecutive hollows (32, 14) extending longitudinally and located at the
opposite sides of the base surface close to the vertical wall, the first one (32)
of said hollows facing upwardly being designed to receive one accessory (33), whereas
the second hollow (14) facing downwardly is designed to receive fastening means (9)
for connection between the section member and a longitudinal member perpendicular
thereto in one and the same plane and for rigidly engaging the extruded section member
to a perimetric bedframe (2).
6. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that it further comprises, at least
at one of said end portions (8), at least one grooved seating (27) arranged to operatively
engage one accessory element (28).
7. A device according to claim 6, characterized in that at least a coupling lug (31)
projecting in the extension or the corresponding end portion (8) is associated with
said first grooved seating (27) in order to define an undercut in the first grooved
seating.
8. A device according to claim 6, characterized in that said first accessory element
(28) comprises at least one drawer slidably engaged to said extruded section member
(6).
9. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that at the upper part of said base
portion (7) of the extruded section member (6) at least a second grooved seating (32)
is formed which extends along the section member itself and is arranged to operatively
engage at least a second accesory element (33).
10. A device according to claim 9, characterized in that said second grooved seating (32)
has a circular profile broken at the upper part thereof by an access opening (32a)
designed to receive, according to a predetermined orientation, a pivot element (34)
fixedly connected to the second accessory (33) and exhibiting a substantially circular
element broken by a pair of parallel rectilinear portions (34a), disposed sysmmetrically
and spaced apart an amount of slightly lower than the width of said access opening
(32a), said pivot element (34) being designed to be angularly rotated within the second
grooved seating (32) for engaging the second accessory (33) to the extruded section
member (6) with possibility of oscillation according to a predetermined angle.
11. A device according to claim 9, characterized in that said second accessory element
(33) comprises an end portion of a support structure for a mattress, associated with
said perimetric frame (2).
12. A device according to claim 6, characterized in that said first grooved seating (27)
is formed at a thickness swelling (37) of the section member (6), defined close to
the intersection between said base portion (7) and the end portion (8) carrying the
first grooved seating.
13. A device according to claim 9, characterized in that said second grooved seating (32)
is formed at a thickness swelling (37) of the section member (6), defined close to
the intersection between said base portion (7) and the end portion (8) carrying the
second grooved seating.
14. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that said guide and stiffening means
(15) comprises a pair of primary wings (17) disposed parallelly side by side and projecting
downwardly from the base portion (7) of the section member (6), as well as at least
one pair of opposite wings (18) projecting towards each other from said primary wings
(17) to give the guide groove (16) a substantially T-shaped configuration.
15. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that said engagement means (9) comprises,
for each bedpost (20), a connecting rod (24) carrying a shaped head (24a) conforming
to the shape of the main guide groove (16) and, on the opposite side from said head
(24a), a threaded portion (24b) operatively engaging in a threaded collar (22) coaxially
carried by said bedpost (20).
16. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that said fastening means (9) comprises,
for each extremity of said extruded section member (6), at least one threaded pin
(10) extending across a through opening (11) formed on the base portion (7) of the
section member, and exhibiting, at one end, a substantially quadrangular head (10a)
to be removably fitted into a T-shaped groove (12) afforded by said bedframe (2) by
means of a fastening nut (10b) to be screwed on the threaded pin (10) and acting against
said extruded section member (6).
17. A device according to claim 16, characterized in that said through opening (11) consists
of an elongated hole extending longitudinally to the extruded section member (6).
18. A device according to claim 16, characterized in that each fastening nut (10b) acts
against the ends of a pair of reinforcing wings (13) disposed parallelly side by side
and projecting downwardly from the base portion (7) of the extruded section member
(6) so as to define at least one additional guide groove (14) therealong, across which
said threaded fastinging pins (10) extend.
19. A device according to claim 14, characterized in that said extruded section member
(6) also has at least one pair of closure portions (25) extending parallelly to the
base portion (7) for connecting the primary wing (17) ends to the corresponding ends
of the reinforcing wings (13) disposed alongside the primary wings.
20. A device according to claim 19, characterized in that said closure portions (25) define
corresponding abutment surfaces for an upper end of the bedpost (20).
21. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that said main guide groove (16) is
located in a substantially middle position with respect to the extruded section member
(6).
22. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that each bedpost (20) comprises an
extruded tubular section member having an outer tubular portion (21) and an inner
collar (22) disposed coaxially and mutually interconnected by at least three circumferentially
distributed radial walls (23).
23. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that it is comprised of at least two
of said extruded section members (6) repectively parallel and disposed in mirror image
relationship at respectively opposite ends of said bedframe (2).

- mit wenigstens einem Extrusionsabschnittsglied (6), das eines der beiden Querelemente
bildet, die quer zu den Längselementen gerichtet sind,
- wobei das Abschnittsglied eine Basisfläche hat, die an wenigstens einem Ende mit
einer vertikalen Wand (8) endet, die sich nach unten erstreckt, und
- mit einer Nut (16) in dem Abschnittselement für die Aufnahme und das Führen der
Bettpfosten (20),
- wobei die Nut (16) unter der Basisfläche angeordnet ist und sich in Längsrichtung
an einer im wesentlichen mittleren Position erstreckt,
gekennzeichnet
a) durch ein Paar von aufeinanderfolgenden Hohlräumen (32, 14), die sich in Längsrichtung
erstrecken und auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Basisfläche in der Nähe der vertikalen
Wand angeordnet sind, wobei der erste (32) der Hohlräume, der nach oben weist, so
ausgelegt ist, daß er ein Zubehör (33) aufnimmt, während der zweite, nach unten weisende
Hohlraum (14) so ausgelegt ist, daß er Befestigungseinrichtungen (9) zur Herstellung
einer Verbindung zwischen dem Abschnittsglied und einem Längselement senkrecht dazu
in ein und derselben Ebene aufnimmt, und
b) durch einen genuteten Sitz (27), der in Längsrichtung in der vertikalen Wand für
ein gleitend verschiebbares Führen einer Schublade (28) ausgebildet ist, wobei die
von den einander in der Nähe der vertikalen Wand gegenüberliegenden Hohlräumen ausgehenden
Wellungen einen im Winkel abgesteiften Abschnitt bilden, der in der Lage ist, dem
Schubladengewicht und dem Gewicht des Schubladeninhalts in jeder möglichen Stellung
der Schublade zu widerstehen.
2. Bettgestell nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Extrusionsabschnittsglied
an seinem unteren Teil einen dritten, zu dem zweiten Hohlraum bezüglich der Mitte
der Basisfläche symmetrischen Hohlraum für die Aufnahme von Festlegungseinrichtungen
aufweist, die das Abschnittsglied und ein Längselement senkrecht dazu in der gleichen
Ebene liegend verbinden.
3. Bettgestell nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Hohlräume die
gleiche Tiefe haben.
4. Bettgestell nach Anspruch 1, 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Extrusionsabschnittsglied
von zwei vertikalen Wänden begrenzt ist.
5. Vorrichtung zum Verbinden von Bettpfosten mit einem umfangsseitigen Bettrahmen
- mit wenigstens einem Extrusionsabschnittsglied, das mit einer Basis und wenigstens
einer Führungsnut (16) versehen ist, und
- mit Eingriffseinrichtungen (19), die wenigstens einem (20) Bettpfosten zugeordnet
sind und arbeitsmäßig der Führungsnut (16) zugeordnet werden können, um den Bettpfosten
an dem Extrusionsabschnittsglied (6) an einer gewünschten Stelle der Längserstreckung
des Abschnittsglieds auswechselbar festzulegen,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
- daß das Extrusionsabschnittsglied (6) im Querschnitt im wesentlichen die Form eines
auf dem Kopf stehenden U hat, das von der Basis gebildet wird, die im wesentlichen
einen horizontalen Abschnitt (7) bildet, von dem aus sich zwei im wesentlichen parallele
Endabschnitte (8) nach unten erstrecken,
- daß Versteifungseinrichtungen (15) an dem Basisabschnitt (7) angeordnet sind, die
wenigstens die Führungsnut (16) bilden, die sich in Längsrichtung zu dem Extrusionsabschnittsglied
(6) erstreckt, und
- daß sich ein Paar von aufeinanderfolgenden Hohlräumen (32, 14) in Längsrichtung
erstreckt und auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Basisfläche in der Nähe der vertikalen
Wand angeordnet ist, wobei der erste (32) der Hohlräume, der nach oben weist, so ausgelegt
ist, daß er ein Zubehör (33) aufnimmt, während der zweite nach unten weisende Hohlraum
(14) so ausgelegt ist, daß er Befestigungseinrichtungen (9) zum Herstellen einer Verbindung
zwischen dem Abschnittsglied und einem Längselement senkrecht dazu in ein und derselben
Ebene und für ein starres Angreifen des Extrusionsabschnittsglieds an dem umfangsseitigen
Bettrahmen (2) aufnimmt.
6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie weiterhin wenigstens
an einem der Endabschnitte (8) wenigstens einen genuteten Sitz (27) aufweist, der
für einen Wirkungseingriff mit einem Zubehörelement (28) angeordnet ist.
7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß wenigstens eine Kupplungslasche
(31), die als Verlängerung des entsprechenden Endabschnitts (8) vorsteht, dem ersten
genuteten Sitz (27) zugeordnet ist, um eine Hinterschneidung in dem ersten genuteten
Sitz zu bilden.
8. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das erste Zubehörelement
(28) wenigstens eine Schublade aufweist, die gleitend verschiebbar mit dem Extrusionsabschnittsglied
(6) in Eingriff steht.
9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß an dem oberen Teil des Basisabschnitts
(7) des Extrusionsabschnittsglieds (6) wenigstens ein zweiter genuteter Sitz (32)
ausgebildet ist, der sich längs des Abschnittsglieds selbst erstreckt und für einen
Wirkungseingriff mit wenigstens einem zweiten Zubehörelement (33) angeordnet ist.
10. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der zweite genutete Sitz
(32) ein kreisförmiges Profil hat, das an seinem oberen Teil durch eine Zugangsöffnung
(32a) unterbrochen ist, die so ausgelegt ist, daß sie entsprechend einer vorgegebenen
Ausrichtung ein Schwenkelement (34) aufnimmt, das fest mit dem zweiten Zubehör (33)
verbunden ist und ein im wesentlichen kreisförmiges Element aufweist, das durch ein
Paar von parallelen geradlinigen Abschnitten (34a) unterbrochen ist, die symmetrisch
und in einem Abstand mit einer Größe angeordnet sind, die etwas geringer ist als die
Breite der Zugangsöffnung (32a), wobei das Schwenkelement (34) so ausgelegt ist, daß
es in dem zweiten genuteten Sitz (32) für einen Eingriff des zweiten Zubehörs (33)
mit dem Extrusionsabschnittsglied mit der Möglichkeit einer Verschwenkung entsprechend
einem vorgegebenen Winkel im Winkel drehbar ist.
11. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das zweite Zubehörelement
(33) einen Endabschnitt eines Tragaufbaus für eine Matratze aufweist, der dem umfangsseitigen
Rahmen (2) zugeordnet ist.
12. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der erste genutete Sitz (27)
an einer dicken Anschwellung (37) des Abschnittsglieds (6) ausgebildet ist, die nahe
an der Schnittstelle zwischen dem Basisabschnitt (7) und dem Endabschnitt (8) ausgebildet
ist, der den ersten genuteten Sitz trägt.
13. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der zweite genutete Sitz
(32) an einer dicken Anschwellung (37) des Abschnittsglieds (6) ausgebildet ist, die
nahe an der Schnittstelle zwischen dem Basisabschnitt (7) und dem Endabschnitt (8)
ausgebildet ist, der den zweiten genuteten Sitz trägt.
14. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Führungs- und Versteifungseinrichtung
(15) ein Paar von primären Armen (17), die parallel Seite an Seite angeordnet sind
und nach unten von dem Basisabschnitt (7) des Abschnittsglieds (6) vorstehen, sowie
wenigstens ein Paar von gegenüberliegenden Armen (18) aufweist, die aufeinander zu
von den ersten Armen (17) vorstehen und der Führungsnut (16) eine im wesentlichen
T-förmige Gestalt geben.
15. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Eingriffseinrichtung
(9) für jeden Bettpfosten (20) eine Verbindungsstange (24), die einen geformten Kopf
(24a) trägt, der mit der Form der Hauptführungsnut (16) übereinstimmt, und auf der
gegenüberliegenden Seite von dem Kopf (24a) einen Gewindeabschnitt (24b) aufweist,
mit dem ein Gewindebund (22) in Wirkungseingriff steht, der koaxial von dem Bettpfosten
(20) getragen wird.
16. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Befestigungseinrichtungen
(9) für jedes Ende des Extrusionsabschnittsglieds (6) wenigstens einen Gewindestift
(10) aufweisen, der sich durch eine an dem Basisabschnitt (7) des Abschnittsglieds
ausgebildete Durchgangsöffnung erstreckt und am einen Ende einen im wesentlichen viereckigen
Kopf (10a) hat, der lösbar in eine von dem Bettrahmen (2) gebildete T-förmige Nut
mittels einer Befestigungsmutter (10b) einpaßbar ist, die auf den Gewindestift (10)
geschraubt wird und gegen das Extrusionsabschnittsglied (6) wirkt.
17. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Durchgangsöffnung (11)
aus einem langgestreckten Loch besteht, das sich in Längsrichtung zu dem Extrusionsabschnittsglied
(6) erstreckt.
18. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jede Befestigungsmutter
(10b) gegen die Enden eines Paares von Verstärkungsarmen (13) wirkt, die parallel
Seite an Seite angeordnet sind und nach unten von dem Basisabschnitt (7) des Extrusionsabschnittselements
(6) aus vorstehen, so daß wenigstens eine zusätzliche Führungsnut (14) längs daran
gebildet wird, durch die sich die mit Gewinde versehenen Befestigungsstifte (10) erstrecken.
19. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Extrusionsabschnittsglied
(6) auch wenigstens ein Paar von Verschlußabschnitten (25) aufweist, die sich parallel
zum Basisabschnitt (7) zum Verbinden der Enden der primären Arme (17) mit den entsprechenden
Enden der verstärkenden Arme (13) erstrecken, die längs der primären Arme angeordnet
sind.
20. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 19, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Verschlußabschnitte
(25) entsprechende Anschlagflächen für ein oberes Ende des Bettpfostens (20) bilden.
21. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Hauptführungsnut (16)
in einer im wesentlichen mittleren Position bezüglich des Extrusionsabschnittsglieds
(6) angeordnet ist.
22. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jeder Bettpfosten (20) ein
rohrförmiges Extrusionsabschnittsglied mit einem äußeren rohrförmigen Abschnitt (21)
und einem inneren Bund (22) hat, die koaxial angeordnet und miteinander durch wenigstens
drei in Umfangsrichtung verteilte radiale Wände (23) verbunden sind.
23. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie wenigstens zwei Extrusionsabschnittsglieder
(6) aufweist, die jeweils parallel und spiegelbildlich an den jeweils gegenüberliegenden
Enden des Bettrahmens (2) angeordnet sind.
1. Châlit comprenant au moins deux éléments longitudinaux (3), deux éléments transversaux,
une pluralité de lattes (5) dont les extrémités sont associées aux éléments longitudinaux
afin de supporter un matelas ou analogue, plusieurs pieds de lit (20) destinés à maintenir
le châlit élevé à une hauteur donnée par rapport au sol, au moins un élément profilé
extrudé (6) formant l'un desdits deux éléments transversaux, orientés transversalement
par rapport aux éléments longitudinaux, ledit élément profilé comprenant une surface
de base se terminant au moins à une extrémité par une paroi verticale (8) s'étendant
vers le bas, une gorge (16) ménagée dans ledit élément profilé destinée à recevoir
et guider lesdits pieds de lit (20), ladite gorge (16) étant disposée au-dessous de
ladite surface de base et s'étendant longitudinalement en un emplacement sensiblement
médian, ledit châlit étant caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend :
a) une paire de creux consécutifs (32, 14) s'étendant longitudinalement et situés
au niveau des côtés opposés de la surface de base à proximité de la paroi verticale,
le premier (32) desdits creux faisant face vers le haut étant conçu pour recevoir
un accessoire (33), tandis que le second creux (14) faisant face vers le bas est conçu
pour recevoir des moyens de fixation (9) afin de réaliser la liaison entre l'élément
profilé et un élément longitudinal perpendiculaire à celui-ci dans un seul et même
plan,
b) un logement rainuré (27), formé en long dans la paroi verticale, destiné à guider
un tiroir (28) de façon coulissante,
les ondulations provenant des creux se faisant face à proximité de la paroi verticale
formant une partie raidie en angle, capable de supporter le poids du tiroir et le
poids du contenu du tiroir, quelle que soit la position éventuelle du tiroir.
2. Châlit selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'élément profilé extrudé comprend,
au niveau de la partie inférieure de celui-ci, un troisième creux symétrique du second
creux par rapport au centre de la surface de base, destiné à loger des moyens de fixation
reliant l'élément profilé et un élément longitudinal perpendiculaire à celui-ci s'étendant
dans le même plan.
3. Châlit selon la revendication 1 ou la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que lesdits
creux ont la même profondeur.
4. Châlit selon la revendication 1, 2 ou 3, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément profilé
extrudé est délimité par deux parois verticales.
5. Dispositif permettant de relier des pieds de lit à un cadre de lit périmétrique, comprenant
au moins un élément profilé extrudé, comportant une base et au moins une gorge de
guidage (16), des moyens de prise (19) associés à au moins un pied de lit (20) et
pouvant être associés de façon fonctionnelle à la gorge de guidage (16) afin de fixer
de façon amovible le pied de lit à l'élément profité extrudé (6) en un emplacement
désiré sur l'étendue longitudinale dudit élément profité, caractérisé en ce qu'il
comprend :
- ledit élément profilé extrudé (6) présentant, en coupe, une configuration sensiblement
en U inversé, définie par ladite base formant une partie sensiblement horizontale
(7) à partir de laquelle deux parties d'extrémité sensiblement parallèles (8) s'étendent
vers le bas,
- un moyen de raidissement (15) agencé sur ladite partie de base (7), définissant
au moins ladite gorge de guidage (16) s'étendant longitudinalement par rapport à l'élément
profité extrudé (6),
- une paire de creux consécutifs (32, 14) s'étendant longitudinalement et situés au
niveau des côtés opposés de la surface de base à proximité de la paroi verticale,
le premier (32) desdits creux, faisant face vers le haut, étant conçu pour recevoir
un accessoire (33), tandis que le second creux (14), faisant face vers le bas, est
conçu pour recevoir un moyen de fixation (9) afin de réaliser la liaison entre l'élément
profilé et un élément longitudinal perpendiculaire à celui-ci dans un seul et même
plan, et à fixer de façon rigide l'élément profilé extrudé à un cadre de lit périmétrique
(2).
6. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend en outre, au
moins au niveau de l'une desdites parties d'extrémité (8), au moins un logement rainuré
(27) conçu pour saisir de façon fonctionnelle un premier élément accessoire (28).
7. Dispositif selon la revendication 6, caractérisé en ce qu'au moins une languette d'accouplement
(31), faisant saillie dans le prolongement de la partie d'extrémité (8) correspondante,
est associée audit premier logement rainuré (27) afin de définir un embrèvement dans
le premier logement rainuré.
8. Dispositif selon la revendication 6, caractérisé en ce que ledit premier élément accessoire
(28) comprend au moins un tiroir monté de façon coulissante sur ledit élément profilé
extrudé (6).
9. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce qu'au niveau de la partie supérieure
de ladite partie de base (7) de l'élément profilé extrudé (6) est formé au moins un
second logement rainuré (32) qui s'étend le long de l'élément profilé lui-même et
est conçu pour saisir de façon fonctionnelle au moins un second élément accessoire
(33).
10. Dispositif selon la revendication 9, caractérisé en ce que ledit logement rainuré
(32) présente un profil circulaire interrompu au niveau de la partie supérieure de
celui-ci par une ouverture d'accès (32a) conçue pour recevoir, suivant une orientation
prédéterminée, un élément de pivot (34) relié de façon fixe au second accessoire (33)
et comportant un élément sensiblement circulaire interrompu par une paire de parties
rectilignes parallèles (34a) disposées symétriquement et espacées d'une valeur légèrement
inférieure à la largeur de ladite ouverture d'accès (32a), ledit élément de pivot
(34) étant conçu pour être tourné angulairement à l'intérieur du second logement rainuré
(32) afin de fixer le second accessoire (33) à l'élément profilé extrudé (6) avec
possibilité d'oscillation suivant un angle prédéterminé.
11. Dispositif selon la revendication 9, caractérisé en ce que ledit second élément accessoire
(33) comprend une partie d'extrémité d'une structure de support pour un matelas, associée
audit cadre périmétrique (2).
12. Dispositif selon la revendication 6, caractérisé en ce que ledit premier logement
rainuré (27) est formé au niveau d'une surépaisseur (37) de l'élément profilé (6)
définie à proximité de l'intersection entre ladite partie de base (7) et la partie
d'extrémité (8) portant le premier logement rainuré.
13. Dispositif selon la revendication 9, caractérisé en ce que ledit second logement rainuré
(32) est formé au niveau d'une surépaisseur (37) de l'élément profilé (6) définie
à proximité de l'intersection entre ladite partie de base (7) et la partie d'extrémité
(8) portant le second logement rainuré.
14. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens de guidage
et de raidissement (15) comprennent une paire d'ailes principales (17) disposées parallèlement
côte à côte et faisant saillie vers le bas à partir de la partie de base (7) de l'élément
profilé (6), de même qu'au moins une paire d'ailes opposées (18) faisant saillie l'une
vers l'autre à partir desdites ailes principales (17) afin de communiquer à la gorge
de guidage (16) une configuration sensiblement en forme de T.
15. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens de prise
(9) comprennent, pour chaque pied de lit (20), une tige de liaison (24) portant une
tête en forme (24a) épousant la forme de la gorge de guidage principale (16) et, sur
le côté opposé par rapport à ladite tête (24a), une partie filetée (24b) s'engageant
de façon fonctionnelle dans un collet fileté (22) porté coaxialement par ledit pied
de lit (20).
16. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens de fixation
(9) comprennent, pour chaque extrémité dudit élément profilé extrudé (6), au moins
une broche filetée (10) s'étendant au travers d'une ouverture traversante (11) formée
sur la partie de base (7) de l'élément profilé, et présentant, à une extrémité, une
tête sensiblement quadrangulaire (10a) destinée à être ajustée de façon amovible dans
une gorge en forme de T (12) que comporte ledit cadre de lit (2), au moyen d'un écrou
de fixation (10b) devant être vissé sur la broche filetée (10) et portant sur ledit
élément profilé extrudé (6).
17. Dispositif selon la revendication 16, caractérisé en ce que ladite ouverture traversante
(11) est constituée par un trou allongé s'étendant longitudinalement par rapport à
l'élément profilé extrudé (6).
18. Dispositif selon la revendication 16, caractérisé en ce que chaque écrou de fixation
(10b) porte sur les extrémités d'une paire d'ailes de renforcement (13) disposées
parallèlement côte à côte et faisant saillie vers le bas à partir de la partie de
base (7) de l'élément profilé extrudé (6) de manière à définir au moins une gorge
de guidage supplémentaire (14) le long de celui-ci, au travers de laquelle s'étendent
lesdites broches de fixation filetées (10).
19. Dispositif selon la revendication 14, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément profilé

principales (17) aux extrémités correspondantes des ailes de renforcement (13) disposées
à côté des ailes principales.
20. Dispositif selon la revendication 19, caractérisé en ce que lesdites parties de fermeture
(25) définissent des surfaces de butée correspondantes pour une extrémité supérieure
du pied de lit (20).
21. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que ladite gorge de guidage
principale (16) est située en position sensiblement médiane par rapport à l'élément
profilé extrudé (6).
22. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que chaque pied de lit (20)
comprend un élément profilé tubulaire extrudé comportant une partie tubulaire extérieure
(21) et un collet intérieur (22) disposés coaxialement et mutuellement reliés par
au moins trois parois radiales réparties sur la circonférence (23).
23. Dispositif selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce qu'il est composé d'au moins
deux desdits éléments profilés extrudés (6) respectivement parallèles et disposés
en relation d'image en miroir au niveau d'extrémités opposées respectives dudit cadre
de lit (2).
