    (57) Disclosed is a printer in which the driving time of its printer head (10) is determined based on a printer head driving mode selected as a result of control commands interpreted by a control command interpreter (45) and the actual driving voltage Vp used for driving the printer head, and printing is performed according to the determined driving time. The purpose is to set the driving time of the printer head (10) to a time suited to both the used type of recording paper and the actual head driving voltage.
