    (54) Encased photographic material


    (57) An encased photographic material includes a silver halide light-sensitive material (24) having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support. The emulsion layer contains gold- and chalcogen-sensitized silver halide grains. A lightproof container (22) contains the light-sensitive material (24) such that an end portion (25) of the light-sensitive material (24) is positioned outside the lightproof container (22), and that a gas can pass between an inside and an outside of the lightproof container (22). A light-transmitting case (26) encases and seals the lightproof container (22) containing the light-sensitive material (24). A hydrogen cyanide gas scavenger is present inside the case (26).
