    (54) Swimming toy fish


    (57) A marine display is provided comprising a housing (5) and a transparent vessel (1) at least partially filled with liquid (28). A magnetic animated marine life such as a toy fish (20) is freely suspended in the liquid and at least one rotating magnet (7,8) in the housing generates magnetic fields which co-act with the magnetic toy fish (20) to cause the fish to move in all directions to simulate the swimming action of a natural fish in a liquid habitat. A background plate (6) in the housing (5) behind the liquid vessel imparts aesthetic marine-like appearance to the display.
