(57) A system for controlling a plurality of downhole apparatus tools (122, 124) comprises a housing (106) inside which a biasing force is provided such as by compressed gas in a container (104). An activating force can be received at inlet (118) in the housing (106) so that the activating force acts in opposition to the biasing force e.g. across a movable piston (112). The downhole tools are selectively operated in response to different magnitudes of the activating force acting in opposition to the biasing force.
