    (57) A discharge opening plate (503) for an ink jet recording head comprises a plate (503) having a through hole forming a discharge opening, a water repellant cover layer (531) on one surface of the plate and an adhesive layer (533) provided on its other surface. An ink jet recording head may be manufactured by adhering this plate (503) to a head body (507) having an ink path arranged to correspond to the through hole opening.
