    (54) A synthetic resin tube for winding yarn intended for dyeing and other treatments

    (57) The tube (41) has at the upper end a perimetric rim (45) projecting longitudinally, in other words axially, and inside and beneath said rim (45) a connecting grid (49) between the outer wall (41A) of the tube and an inner collar (51) which may be axially projecting.

    Description

    [0001] The invention relates to a synthetic resin tube for winding yarn intended for dyeing and other treatments, the tube being made to enable it to be used with an end block which is the subject of another simultaneous patent held by the same applicant, without requiring adjustments for variation of the machine, while making it possible to maintain the useful dimensions for the bobbin as in the tubes in use at the present time, which are provided with an upper circular aperture for centering.

    [0002] These and other objects and advantages will be clearly understood from the following text.

    [0003] Essentially, the tube in question has at its upper end a perimetric rim projecting longitudinally, in other words axially, and inside and beneath said rim a connecting grid between the outer wall of the tube and an inner collar which may project axially beyond the grid. The inner collar may be more or less axially projecting beyond the perimetric rim.

    [0004] Said perimetric rim is slightly further inward than the outer wall of the tube, to permit mutual support and centering between a number of identical superimposed tubes.

    [0005] The drawing shows in detail a possible embodiment of the tube in question together with an end block disk and a base disk with which the tube in question, as well as other types of tube currently in use, may be used. In the drawing,

    Figs. 1, 2, and 3 show said end block disk in diametric section and in views along II-II and III-III in Fig. 1;

    Figs. 4, 5, and 6 show, in a similar way to Figs. 1, 2, and 3, the base disk in diametric section and in views along V-V and VI-VI in Fig. 4;

    Fig. 7 is an exploded view of the base disk and the end block as shown in the preceding figures and the tube in question, in partial schematic axial section; and

    Fig. 8 is a view of said tube from the line VIII-VIII in Fig. 7.

    [0006] Figs. 1 to 3 show a disk 1 forming an end block, and having on the outer face a central projection 3 and an annular rim 5 at a limited distance from the periphery of the disk, together with an intermediate annular depression 7 which surrounds the central projection 3. This end block disk is the subject of another simultaneous patent held by the same applicant. On the lower face, which is to make contact with the top of the tubes, the end block disk has, from the outside, a first perimetric annular frontal supporting rim 9 immediately adjacent to the periphery of the disk. This is followed by a frustoconical shoulder 10, which is followed by a second annular supporting rim 12 with a curved, concave profile which forms part of a projecting collar 14. Inside said collar 14 there is formed a deep annular groove 16 having a slightly tapered outer wall 16A and an inner wall 16B which is appropriately rounded with a flared profile to facilitate the positioning of a collar of a tube as stated below.

    [0007] Figs. 4 to 6 show a disk 20 which forms the supporting base of the tubes which may be fitted on a spinning machine equipped with said base disk 20 and with the disk 1 described above. This disk 20 has, on the outer face, a central projection 23 surrounded by a step 25, followed by a collar 27 and a surface 29; the upper face (as seen in Fig. 4) of said base disk 20 has a flat surface 31, a tapered wall 33 and, perimetrically, a frontal supporting rim 35 for centering the lower edge of the tube.

    [0008] The pair of disks 20 and 1 makes it possible to use different tubes on a single spinning machine, and in particular the tube in question, which is illustrated in Figs. 7 and 8.

    [0009] The tube in question, indicated in a general way by 41, is illustrated in detail in said Figs. 7 and 8. It has a lower edge 43 which can rest on the frontal perimetric rim 35 of the base tube 20, being centered by the wall 37. At the opposite upper end (as seen in Fig. 7) the tube 41 has a perimetric rim 45 which projects longitudinally, in other words axially, from a small terminal step 47 surrounding said rim. Inside and under said rim 45 there is provided a radial connecting grid 49 between the outer wall of the tube and an inner collar 51, which can also be extended axially. The grid 49 has a substantially flat top, while it is tapered inwardly owing to requirements of resistance. A large circular aperture 53 is formed inside the collar 51. The outer wall 41A of the tube 41 can consist (as illustrated) of a series of rings 41B connected by inclined links 41C in the gaps between them, the links 41C of each gap being inclined in the opposite direction to that of those in the adjacent spaces, as is clearly shown in the drawing. The wall 41A of the tube 41 is substantially cylindrical. However, the configuration of the cylindrical tube shell is unimportant for the purposes of the invention, and the illustration is only one of the possible structures of said shell.

    [0010] The tube 41 described above may be used with the base disk 20 and with the end block disk 1 described previously. The tube 41 is centered on the disk 1, the frontal support being provided between the collar 14 and the outer surface formed by the grid 49, while the mutual centering between the tube 41 and the end block disk 1 is provided by the inner wall 16B of the annular groove 16, which interacts with the inner surface of the collar 51 and consequently with the circular aperture 53.

    [0011] The tube 41 with its circular aperture 53 delimited by the inner collar 51 enables the tube to also be disposed in dyeing equipment comprising a centering support in the form of a small column on to which the tubes can be fitted according to a technique known in dyeing equipment.

    [0012] The tubes 41 can be centered on each other, in a known way, by making use of the perimetric support formed by the step 47 and the centering provided by the outer wall of the perimetric rim 45 adjacent to the said step 47, which interacts with the inner surface of the edge 43 of the tube 41 located above.
