    Description

[0001] The invention relates to an information slide card provided with a pop-up, and a method for manufacturing such an information slide card.

[0002] Information slide cards provided with a pop-up are generally known. These are comprised of an envelope formed by a back cover sheet and a front cover sheet in which the pop-up is included, an inner sheet disposed between the front cover sheet and the back cover sheet, which inner sheet is partially slidable out of the envelope, and which inner sheet, between two parallel free side edges, has a width greater than the width between the free side edges of the pop-up included in the front cover sheet, whereby the material of the front cover sheet adjacent to the pop-up covers the free side edges of the inner sheet, and further the inner sheet is connected to the pop-up, such, that when the inner sheet is slided in the envelope the pop-up is folded up and elevates from the envelope.
With the known pop-up card the pop-up and the inner sheet are glued to each other, and the pop-up at the side opposite of the direction of sliding out is adjoined by a flat section formed by the connection of the pop-up and the inner sheet, which detracts from an attractive appearance of the pop-up card.

[0003] The invention aims to obviate this drawback of the known pop-up card. Further, the invention aims to provide a card, which allows the inner sheet to slide smoothly in the envelope, and which allows a smooth pop-up movement. The invention further aims to provide a method for manufacturing the pop-up card according to the invention in a simple and efficient manner.

[0004] The information slide card according to the invention to that end is characterized in that the connection of the inner sheet and the pop-up is formed by a fold line. When the card is slided out, the pop-up at the side opposite of the direction of sliding out is not adjoined by a flat portion. A further advantage of this is that information which is printed on the inner side of the back cover sheet is covered up to a lesser extent by the material of the pop-up.

[0005] According to a further characteristic of the invention, the free side edges of the inner sheet and the free side edges of the parts of the envelope which enclose the inner sheet, extend conically, such, that seen in the direction of sliding out the side edges and the parts widen.

[0006] The method for manufacturing an information slide card provided with a pop-up according to the invention is characterized in that a piece of planar material is divided according to two fold lines in at least one set of three sections, of which the first and the second section are to form the back cover sheet respectively the front cover sheet of an envelope, while in the front cover sheet the pop-up is included, and which pop-up is divided off from the material of the front cover sheet by at least one slit and one fold line, and wherein the third section is to form an inner sheet which is partially slidable out of the envelope, which inner sheet partially is cut loose from the material of the third section by at least one slit terminating close to an edge of the piece of planar material, and wherein the inner sheet and the pop-up are divided off from each other by one of the fold lines, and whereby the third section is folded over the second section, after which the first section is folded over the second section, and wherein the third and the second section are glued to each other outside of the area of the pop-up and the inner sheet, and the first section outside of the area of the inner sheet is glued to the second section, after which from the accordingly folded set of the three sections a strip of the planar material is cut off at the connection of the inner sheet and the third section, so that the inner sheet becomes freely slidable from the material of the third section.

[0007] According to a characteristic of the method according to the invention the fold lines, by means of which the piece of planar material is divided into at least one set of three sections, extend substantially perpendicular with respect to each other, such that the first and second section are disposed side by side, and the third section is disposed above the second section.

[0008] According to a further characteristic of the method according to the invention these fold lines extend parallel, such, that the sections are disposed above one another.

[0009] The invention will now be described further with reference to the drawings of examples of an embodiment of the invention.

[0010] Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the information slide card according to the invention, in partially slided out position.

[0011] Figure 2 shows a front view of the card, which is completed, with the exception of the cutting off of a strip of planar residual material.

[0012] The figures 3 and 7 show a front view of a piece of planar material from which the card is manufactured, wherein the sections are partially disposed next, and partially disposed above, one another, and the figures 4, 5 and 6 show a cross section of figure 3 along the line A-A of figure 3, and the figures 8 and 9 show a cross section according to the line C-C of figure 7.

[0013] Figure 10 shows a front view of another embodiment, wherein the sections are disposed above one another. The figures 11, 12 and 13 show a cross section along the line D-D.

[0014] As is shown in figure 3, the strip of planar material 4 is divided by two fold lines 5 and 6, which extend perpendicular with respect to each other, into a first section 1, which is to form the back cover sheet of an envelope, a second section 2, which is to form the front cover sheet, and in which the pop-up 7 is limited by two slits 8 and 9 and the fold line 10, and a third section 3, in which an inner sheet 11 is limited by two slits 12 and 13, which terminate close to the edge 14 of the piece of planar material.
As is shown in figure 5, the third section 3 is folded over the second section 2, and these are glued to each other at the edges 15 and 16, outside of the inner sheet 11 and the pop-up 7. As can be seen in figure 6, the first section 1 is then folded over the second section 2, after which these are glued to each other at the edges 17 and 18, outside the inner sheet 11, in such a way, that the inner sheet 11 and the pop-up 7 remain movable with respect to the envelope. Figure 2 shows the almost completed card according to the line B-B of figure 6, wherein a strip of material according to the line 21 at the connection 22 (figure 3) of the inner sheet 11 and the third section 3 is cut off, so that the inner sheet becomes freely slidable from the material of the third section 3, and whereby, due to the connection to the pop-up by means of the fold line 6, the pop-up moves along with it.

[0015] Figure 7 shows another embodiment, whereby the inner sheet 11 is divided off with respect to the third section 3 exclusively by the slit 13. The second section 2 comprises an extra strip 20 which is connected along a fold line 19.
As is shown in figures 8 and 9, this strip 20 is folded onto the second section 2, and glued to this section, and the third section 3 with the inner sheet 11 is folded onto the second section 2, whereby the inner sheet 11 is enclosed along one side by the strip 20, and after which the first section 1 is folded over the third section 3 and is glued.

[0016] Figure 10 shows another embodiment, wherein the fold lines 5 and 6 extend parallel, and the sections 1, 2 and 3 are disposed above one another. As is shown in the figures 11, 12 and 13, the sections are folded, in the same manner as described before, over each other and are partially glued to each other.

[0017] As can further be seen in among others figure 3, the slits 12 and 13, and thereby the inner sheet 11, extend conically, which contributes to a smooth movement. In an efficient manner the slits 12 and 13, by means of which the inner sheet 11 is partially cut loose from the third section 3, are slot-shaped (not shown in the drawing).
