Abstract

 The present invention relates to a very comfortable and easy to use bed outfit or equipment, comprising a bottom sheet (1), provided for covering the bed mattress, and a top element (3), provided for covering the bottom sheet (1).
The bottom sheet (1) is provided, near at least a perimetrical side thereof, with means (6) for engaging the top element (3).

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a very comfortable and easy to use bed outfit.

[0002] As is known, bed outfits or equipment usually comprise a bottom sheet, a top sheet, which are also called the lower sheet and upper sheet, as well as further covering elements and the like.

[0003] For properly using such a bed outfit, it is necessary to properly bind the bottom sheet to the bed mattress, so as to facilitate the bed recovering and to prevent the bottom sheet from greasing in use.

[0004] For this reason, there have been provided sheet elements including pocket corners, adapted to firmly engage the underlying bed mattress by exploiting the resiliency of the edge portions of these corners.

[0005] Such an approach, however, has not been found to properly solve some problems associated in a conventional use of a bed outfit.

[0006] In fact, because of movements of a sleeping person, very frequently the top sheet is disengaged from the foot side of the mattress, that is the side thereof facing the foot part of the bed, with the drawback that the top cover is partially moved away from the sleeping person who is consequently wakened, which thing represents a great drawback, particularly in winter time.

[0007] This drawback, moreover, compels the user to interrupt his/her sleep in order to properly recover the bed.

[0008] Moreover, a proper locating of the foot side of the bed outfit components under the bed mattress is a very difficult operation, since to raise the mattress, in order to properly locate under it the bottom sheet and top covering elements is a very difficult operation, in particular if the mattress is of a large size.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to provide such a bed outfit which is specifically designed for overcoming the above mentioned drawbacks and which, accordingly, is much more comfortable than prior bed outfit arrangements.

[0010] Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the present invention is to provide such a bed outfit which is adapted to greatly simplify all of the bed recovering operations.

[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide such a bed outfit which is adapted to efficiently prevent the bed outfit top components from disengaging from the foot side of the mattress.

[0012] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a very comfortable and easy to use bed outfit comprising a bottom sheet provided for covering a bed mattress and a top covering element provided for covering the bottom sheet, characterized in that said bottom sheet is provided, near at least a perimetrical side thereof, with engaging means for engaging said top covering element.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] With reference to the number references of the figures of the accompanying drawings, the bed outfit according to the present invention comprises a bottom sheet 1, provided for covering, in a per se known manner, a bed mattress 2 and a top element 3, 4, which has a size adapted to cover the top surface of the bottom sheet 1.

[0015] According to the invention, the bottom sheet 1 is provided, near at least a perimetrical side thereof, with means for engaging the top element 3, 4.

[0016] The bottom sheet 1 is preferably provided with pocket corners 5 having an elasticized edge portion, so as to greatly facilitate the bed recovering operation.

[0017] The top element can comprise either a top sheet 3, or, as shown in Figure 8, an eiderdown covering element.

[0018] The bottom sheet 1, by the mentioned engagement means, is coupled to the top element 3, 4 near the foot side thereof, that is that side provided for facing the foot part of the bed.

[0019] The engagement means engaging the bottom sheet with the top element 3 or 4 can comprise, as shown in Figures 1, 7 and 8, a seaming 6 or, as shown in Figure 3, press-buttons 8a, 8b or, as specifically shown in Figure 5, buttons 9 which are affixed to the bottom sheet and engage within slots 10 formed through the top element 3 or 4.

[0020] As shown in Figure 4, the engagement means can also comprise a zipper 11, joining to one another the foot side of the bottom sheet 1 and the foot side of the covering element 3 or 4.

[0021] As is specifically shown in Figure 6, the engagement means can also comprise a tearable strip, which is commercially available with the trademark of VELCRO, an element of the tearable or peelable strip being applied to the bottom sheet and the other element of said strip, provided for removably engaging the first, being affixed to the top element 3 or 4.

[0022] At the engagement means coupling to one another the bottom sheet and top element, it is also possible to provide a reinforcement strip seamed to the bottom sheet.

[0023] Thus, the region along which the bottom sheet 1 and top element 3 or 4 are or connected to one another, as the bed outfit is properly arranged on a mattress 2, will be located under the foot part of the mattress 2 and, accordingly, said region will not obstruct the user in operation.

[0024] From the above disclosure and from an observation of the figures of the accompanying drawings, it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects.

[0025] In particular, the fact is to be pointed out that a bed outfit has been provided which is adapted to efficiently prevent the top element of the outfit from disengaging from the mattress, which top element, as stated, can comprise either a top sheet or a covering element, thereby providing a very high comfort for the user.

[0026] Moreover, since the bottom sheet and top element are coupled to one another, the bed can be very quickly and easily recovered.

[0027] In practicing the invention, the used materials, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any depending on requirements.

Claims

1. A very comfortable and easy to use bed outfit comprising a bottom sheet provided for covering a bed mattress and a top covering element provided for covering the bottom sheet, characterized in that said bottom sheet is provided, near at least a perimetrical side thereof, with engaging means for engaging said top covering element.

2. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said top element comprises a top sheet.

3. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said top element comprises an eiderdown covering element.

4. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means are arranged near a foot side of said bottom sheet.

5. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means comprise a seaming connecting said bottom sheet to said top element.

6. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means comprise button elements coupled to the bottom sheet and engageable through slots defined through the top element.

7. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means comprise a zipper.

8. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means comprise press-buttons.

9. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said engagement means comprise a tearable strip.

10. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein a portion of said bottom sheet bearing said engagement means is reinforced.

11. A bed outfit, according to Claim 1, wherein said bottom sheet is provided with pocket corners which can be engaged with the bed mattress.
