Color photographic element |
(57) Yellowing, dye fade and thermal pinking of a processed color photographic element
is improved by incorporating into the photographic element a non-color forming, oil-soluble,
monomeric or oligomeric organic compound having a glass transition temperature between
0° and 150°C. The tendency of photographically useful compounds (PUCs) to crystallize
when dispersed in an aqueous medium is also inhibited by codispersing with the PUC
the non-color forming, oil-soluble, monomeric or oligomeric organic compound. Preferred
organic compounds are oil-soluble sucrose esters, such as sucrose octaacetate, and
rosin and derivatives thereof. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the above-noted
properties are improved by incorporating into the photographic element an oil-soluble
rosin derivative, such as abietic acid.
