Dismountable cabinet provided with doors |
(57) A dismountable cabinet including a body (1) consisting of a dismountable frame (2)
covered by a covering made of fabric or the like which is fitted onto said frame (2),
also includes doors (3, 3') having a dismountable structure similar to that of said
body (1) and hinged thereto by means of flexible fastening devices suitable to be
secured to the covering of the body (1) and of the door (3), respectively. Said devices
may consist of a zip (4), leather strips provided with press-studs, velcro strips,
etc.

|
[0001] The present invention relates to dismountable cabinets consisting of a frame, made
up of a series of joint-assembled members, covered by a fabric covering, and in particular
to a dismountable cabinet provided with doors having a structure similar to that of
the cabinet.
[0002] It is known that there are several kinds of dismountable cabinets provided with one
or more openings, usually obtained by means of zips which allow the partial or complete
separation of a strip of the covering fabric. Therefore, said openings consist of
soft strips of fabric, which are usually rolled up and retained by straps, or let
down, etc. It is clear that this type of opening is very unpractical in the case of
cabinets which are frequently opened, since it involves a significant waste of time.
Moreover, the strip of soft fabric may be an obstacle or it may get dusty when falling
to the floor, etc.
[0003] Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a dismountable cabinet
suitable to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks.
[0004] This object is achieved by means of a dismountable cabinet having the characteristics
cited in claim 1.
[0005] The apparent advantage of the present cabinet is to combine the advantages of lightness
and practicality of the dismountable cabinets with the convenience of having opening
doors like in conventional hard cabinets.
[0006] These and other advantages and characteristics of the cabinet according to the present
invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed
description of two preferred embodiments thereof referring to the annexed drawings
wherein:
Fig.1 is a schematic perspective view of a first embodiment of a cabinet according to the
invention; and
Fig.2 is a schematic perspective view of a second embodiment of a cabinet according to
the invention.
[0007] Referring to fig.1, there is seen that a cabinet according to the present invention
includes a body 1 consisting, as mentioned above, of a dismountable frame 2 onto which
a covering made of fabric or the like is fitted. This type of structure is well known
and does not require further description. An example of such a structure is disclosed
in the European patent application EP-A-0.565.497 in the name of the same applicant,
precisely relating to a cabin having a shape similar to that shown in fig.1 and a
front zip opening which is rolled upwards. On the contrary, the present cabinet includes
a pair of doors 3 also consisting of a dismountable frame, generally made of a plastic
material, onto which a fabric covering is fitted like in the case of body 1. For saving
reasons, some of the members making up the frame of door 3 are preferably the same
used for the frame 2 of body 1.
[0008] Each door 3 is shaped so as to follow the spire profile of body 1, and it is hinged
thereto by means of a zip 4 extending along the outer vertical side. Said zip 4 is
made up of two separable parts so as to allow the detachment of door 3 from body 1
and thus maintain the complete dismountability of the cabinet. If body 1 is provided
with bottom wheels 5, as shown in fig. 1, doors 3 are obviously provided with them
too.
[0009] A second embodiment of the present invention is shown in fig.2, wherein body 1',
and consequently each door 3', has a flat rather than spire top. Furthermore, the
connection between each door 3' and body 1' is carried out by means of a plurality
of strips 6 made of leather or the like, provided with press-studs 7 engaging the
corresponding bases secured on the fabric covering of door 3' and body 1', respectively.
It is clear that a similar type of connection may also be carried out by means of
velcro strips, laces, etc.
[0010] The same kind of devices may be included into the cabinet according to the invention
in order to keep the doors close to the body or to restrain them one to the other
in the closed position. Moreover, handles of any kind may obviously be applied to
the doors so as to make the opening of the cabinet easier. Therefore, it is apparent
that the above-described and illustrated embodiments are given merely as examples,
susceptible of several modifications. In particular, as mentioned above, the connection
between the doors and the cabinet body may be carried out in a plurality of different
ways, and the same is valid for the dismountable structure of the body and/or of the
doors.
1. A dismountable cabinet including a body (1, 1') consisting of a dismountable frame
(2) covered by a covering made of fabric or the like which is fitted onto said frame
(2), characterized in that it also includes one or more doors (3, 3') each of which
has a dismountable structure similar to that of said body (1, 1') and is hinged thereto
by means of flexible fastening devices suitable to be secured to the covering of the
body (1, 1') and of the door (3, 3'), respectively.
2. A cabinet according to claim 1, characterized in that the flexible fastening devices
are arranged along the outer vertical side of each door (3, 3').
3. A cabinet according to claim 2, characterized in that the flexible fastening devices
consist of a zip (4).
4. A cabinet according to claim 2, characterized in that the flexible fastening devices
consist of a plurality of leather strips (6) provided with press-studs (7) engaging
the corresponding bases secured to the fabric covering of the door (3, 3') and of
the body (1,1'), respectively.
5. A cabinet according to claim 2, characterized in that the flexible fastening devices
consist of a plurality of velcro strips.
6. A cabinet according to claim 2, characterized in that the flexible fastening devices
consist of a plurality of laces.
7. A cabinet according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it includes devices
for the mutual restraint of the doors (3, 3') in the closed position.
