Process for the partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon feedstock |
(57) Process for treating ash originating from the oxidation or the partial oxidation
of a hydrocarbon feedstock, comprising the steps of forming a soot water slurry containing
unburned carbon and ash and filtration of the soot water slurry to form a filtercake
of carbon and ash, wherein the filter cake is dried by means of a fluid bed and the
dried filtercake is burned at temperatures between 600° C and 1000° C. Preferably
the fluid bed is operated by means of an fluidizing gas at a temperature of at least
150° C. The dried filtercake is burned in circumstances that carbon is left in the
resulting ash.
