(54) Battery pack and connection mechanism

(57) Disclosed is a battery pack and a mechanism for connecting the battery pack (40) that provide increased freedom for detachment and removal from an electric/electronic device (10). Since a head (46), wherein a plurality of terminals are so provided inside individual slits as not to be exposed externally, is connected to a battery interface (76) that is a part of a personal computer and that has a plurality of plugs, the terminals of the battery pack are electrically connected to the corresponding plugs. Since all the slits of the head (46) are so formed that each extends fully through the head (46) in the direction of the thickness of the battery pack (40), and so that each is open at the top, at the bottom, and at one side, the head (46) can be connected to the battery interface (76) from the top, from the bottom, or from the side of the battery interface (76).
