(57) A system that executes a desired node from a process flowchart using step nodes making up a sequence of processes for carrying out a predetermined job and arrows placed between the nodes to indicate the process order. The system includes a unit for specifying a desired node, a unit for executing application programs providing various functions for executing the specified node, a unit for setting information for linking the application programs, and a unit for executing retrieval according to the linkage information. For executing the specified node, the application programs are executed appropriately and information which is output by other application programs and is to be used is also retrieved according to the linkage information.
