(57) Method and arrangement for control of an exhaust brake arranged in a combustion engine exhaust pipe whereby the exhaust brake throttle is rotatable between an open position and a closed position and the force applied by an operating device urges the throttle towards a closed position. When the exhaust brake throttle is activated, the operating device acts with a first force (P₁₎ in an initial stage and thereafter with a smaller second force (P₂) during the remainder of the time that the exhaust brake is activated.
