[0001] The invention relates to a wall gas boiler.
[0002] More particularly, the invention relates a wall boiler having a vertically sliding
front wall.
[0003] As it is well known, recently a remarkable diffusion of wall gas boilers occurred.
[0004] A problem very important for this kind of boilers, which are mainly mounted outside,
is the one of protecting the boiler operation an control members with respect of bad
weather.
[0005] At present, this kind of protection is obtained either placing the operation and
control members in a covered position, and therefore extremely difficult to be reached,
or providing bulky and unsuitable protection doors.
[0006] In this situation is included the solution proposed according to the present invention
providing the sliding of the front wall upward and downward in such a way to obtain
an optimum protection of the abovementioned members and to allow at the same time
an easy reaching of the same members for the user.
[0007] Furthermore, the solution suggested according to the present invention does not create
any further obstruction.
[0008] It is therefore specific object of the present invention a wall gas boiler characterized
in that it provides means to make the front wall sliding vertically.
[0009] Preferably, according to the invention, said means to make the front wall sliding
vertically can be comprised of a pair of side sliding supports, each one provided
with a sliding track, with means coupled with the fixed portion of the boiler and
slidable along said track, and a balancing system for balancing the front part weight.
[0010] Preferably, according to the invention, said system for balancing the weight comprises
said support, said tracks, spring means secured, at a first end, on said support and
at the other end on a movable pulley upon which a wire is wounded, said wire having
a fixed end, winding on said pulley and on said means coupled with the fixed portion
of the boiler, and having the other end fixed on the fixed frame of the boiler.
[0011] Further according to the invention, said support - guide assembly can be provided
with a stop system for the open position of the front wall of the boiler.
[0012] Preferably, said stop system can be comprised of a flexible lever, provided on said
support, having a projecting portion which couples with a suitable seat.
[0013] The boiler according to the invention can be employed either outside and inside.
[0014] The present invention will be now described, for illustrative but not limitative
purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the
figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein:
figure 1 is a perspective view, partially broken, of a wall gas boiler according to
the invention;
figure 2 shows the boiler of figure 1 having the front wall lifted; and
figure 3 shows a particular of the wall gas boiler of figure 1.
[0015] Referring to all the figures of the enclosed drawings, it can be noted a wall gas
boiler 1 having its front wall 2, the shape of which can be a square shape or a slightly
curved shape, provided inside with two supports 3 (only one of which is shown in the
figures), with the sliding tracks 4 and a weight balancing system.
[0016] Two small blocks 110 sliding along the tracks 4 are blocked on the fixed part of
the frame.
[0017] Said weight balancing system is comprised of a support 3 containing the tracks 4,
of the spring 5, having one end 8 fixed on the support 3 and the other end on a movable
pulley 6 upon which a wire 7 is wound more than once.
[0018] Said wire 7 has a fixed point 9 and winds on the movable pulley 6 and on the fixed
guide or small block 10, the other end 11 of the wire being secured on the fixed frame
of the boiler 1.
[0019] By this system, at a determined motion of the support 3 a reduced travel of the point
6, and therefore of the spring, occurs. Employing a suitably studied spring, pretensioned
at a value close to the weight of the sliding front wall it is possible to manoeuvre
opening and closing said wall by a force close to a zero value.
[0020] Further, the support - guide assembly is provided with a stop system for the opening
of the sliding front wall. On the support 3 a flexible lever 12 is provided, said
lever during the opening slides within the guide 13 up to reach the stop 15 and then
it settles on the straddle 14.
[0021] For the closure of the wall it is sufficient to slightly lift the sliding front wall
2 of the boiler 1 and then the lever 12 integral with said wall slides during the
descent within the guide 16.
[0022] The wall 2 during its travel upward uncovers various operation and control members
of the boiler 1.
[0023] The weight of the front wall 2 is annulled by the presence of the springs fixed on
the wall and suitably connected under tension with the fixed portion of the boiler
1 frame. The connection of the springs with the fixed and movable portions of the
boiler is realised by wires 7 and pulleys 6 so as to minimise the spring - travel
force ratio, thus obtaining for any point of the travel a constant value of the force
very close to the weight of the front wall during its motion.
[0024] A front wall thus realised and provided at its ends with suitable seals is, as already
said, particularly suitable for outside utilisation protecting the zone of the operation
and control members with respect to the bad weather.
[0025] The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes,
according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications
and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from
the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
