Process for upgrading petroleum fractions containing olefins and aromatics |
(57) A petroleum fraction, for example catalytic gasoline, containing aromatics and olefins,
is upgraded by contacting the fraction with a solid catalyst under conditions to alkylate
aromatics in the fraction with olefins in the fraction. The process reduces the olefin
content and decreases the octane number sensitivity of the fraction. Benzene content
may also be reduced.
