(57) A conical filtering centrifuge for separating solids and liquids comprises a basket (1) having a baseplate (2) and a frusto-conical sidewall in the form of a plurality of leaves (3) each of which is pivotally attached to the baseplate (2), and each of which partially overlaps adjacent leaves (3) so as to constitute a frusto-conical basket (1) the cone angle of which can be varied whereby different feedstocks can be efficiently separated.
