Process for dearomatization of petroleum distillates |
(57) The invention concerns a process for dearomatization of petroleum distillates, wherein
a distillate feedstock containing aromatic compounds is fed into a hydrotreating process
unit, in which its aromatic compounds are hydrogenated. According to the invention
at least two of the following petroleum distillates a to c are hydrogenated in the
same hydrotreating process unit: a) a solvent cut having a boiling point range of
60 to 270 °C, b) a middle distillate having a boiling point range of 180 to 320 °C,
and c) a naphtha having a a boiling point range of 20 to 190 °C. The temperature rise
in the reaction zone is limited to less than 60 °C by cooling the effluent of the
reaction zone and recycling a part of it to the reaction zone. By means of the invention
it is possible substantially to reduce investment costs for dearomatization units,
because several different kinds of products can be treated in the same unit.
