(57) The invention relates to a show sole (28) for a shoe (20) or other footwear, such as an athletic shoe or a street shoe. It comprises a sole portion (28b) and at least one outwardly contoured side portion (28a) connected to said sole portion (28b). Said at least one outwardly contoured side portion (28a) has an outer surface (31a) with at least an upper part formed by a sole layer (127) other than a bottom sole (128), as measured in a frontal plane cross section.
