(54) Improved latent image development apparatus


(57) A cleaning apparatus for removing residual charged liquid toner particles from a moving surface (32) comprises: a squeegee roller (112) urged against the surface (22) and biased to a voltage at which the particles are attracted to the squeegee roller (112); a compressible toner absorbent element (114) urged against the squeegee roller (112) and moving at a differential velocity with respect to the adjacent surface of the squeegee roller (112); and means (116) for removing toner particles from the compressible toner absorbent element (114), wherein the compressible toner absorbent element (114) is biased to a voltage at which the toner particles are attracted thereto.
