(54)	Paper cutter apparatus and method of operating the same

(57) Paper cutting apparatus is provided including a base (10), and a cutting arm (12). The base includes a non-rectangular-shaped upper face (14) and a cutting edge (24). The upper face preferably has an upper face having an area less than the smallest rectangle that will cover the face area. The upper face may include at least one line (30, 45, 60) inscribed thereon and angled at less than 90 degrees with respect to the cutting edge. The cutting arm is attached by a bolt (42) to one end of the board adjacent the cutting edge to allow a user to cut a sheet aligned along the angled line and extending over the cutting edge. A one-piece latch (64) may be provided which allows the cutting arm (12) to be latched to the base (10).
