OBJECT
[0001] The object of the present invention is comprised of a device for protecting stove
tops that provides several added advantages as related to the function for which it
is designed and which will be discussed at a further point herein apart from other
advantages inherent to the construction and make-up thereof.
ANTECEDENTS OF THIS INVENTION
[0002] It is common knowledge that stove tops, be they gas, electric and/or combined stoves,
become spotted and stained every time food is cooked on them, which thus entails the
need of constant cleaning in order to keep the stove top in acceptable conditions
of cleanliness and to keep it looking nice.
[0003] In order to prevent the need of this work the approach is currently used of covering
the stove top with a piece of paper in which openings have been made for the burners
to fit through. Nevertheless, this is a rudimentary method which forces users to be
constantly handling paper to fit the burners through the holes in addition to paper
not highly ideal for the function for which it is supposedly designed being used,
given that its dimensions do not coincide with the stove top format, for which reason
the areas left uncovered remain just as unprotected against becoming spotted and stained
as before.
ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The applicant for the present invention has conceived a mechanism specially-designed
for use as a component to protect gas, electric and/or combined stove tops, being
comprised of a sheet of tin foil, aluminum or metallic paper of the dimensions and
shapes standardized in keeping with the sizes of the different stove tops currently
existing on the market, and which also includes die-cut holes coinciding with the
position of the burners of said stove tops for the purpose of allowing said burners
to fit through these holes, the sheet running underneath the burners and covering
the entire surface of the stove top. The conventional components of grills used as
rests for kitchen pots and pans and utensils are set on top of said sheet.
[0005] According to the above, the grease spots and stains resulting from cooking foods
is caught completely by the sheet comprising the object of this invention such that
after having finished cooking, said sheet is removed and thrown away, keeping the
stove top clean and no traditional scrubbing by hand being required.
[0006] The present invention offers the advantages described hereinabove in addition to
others which shall be readily appreciable based on the example of the embodiment of
a device for protecting stove tops which is described in further detail in following
for a fuller comprehension of the features set out hereinabove, whilst also expounding
upon different details and attaching to this memorandum some drawings for this purpose
merely for illustrative purposes and not restricting the scope of the present inventions
which is represented herein in a practical embodiment of the object thereof.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008] Fig. 1 provides a plan view of the device comprising the object of the invention.
[0009] Fig. 2 shows a detailed cross-section of the device viewed from II-II, applied to
the stove top positioned for use.
DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0010] Referring to the figures, one encounters a stove-top device, preferably for household
kitchens, comprised of a sheet structure generally designated by -1- made of metallic
or another type of paper and provided with openings -2-.
[0011] The surface area of piece -1- is approximately the same as the surface area of the
stove top - 3-, on which it is designed to be used, given that the openings -2- coincide
with the position of the burners -4- of said stove top, the radii of said openings
being slightly larger than the radii of the burners in order to allow the burners
to fit through them so that piece -1- will be positioned for proper use as shown in
Fig. 2, where said piece -1- is situated in a position below the plane of the burners
-4-, resting directly on the surface of the stove top which it protects. On top of
part -1-, the conventional rests -5- for the pots and pans are placed.
[0012] Thus, the surface of the stove top -3- is protected from grease spotting and other
stains caused during the cooking of foods, thus avoiding the need of constant cleaning
.
1. Device for protecting stove tops characterized essentially as being comprised of a
laminated sheet, the surface area of which is equal to the surface area of the stove
top on which is has been designed to be used and which also includes openings in the
same shape and layout as the burners of said stove top, the radii of these openings
being slightly larger than the radii of the burners so that the laminated sheet can
fit into a position covering the stove top, which it covers completely, and on the
laminated sheet of which the rests for the pots and pans are set into place.
