Piezoelectric resonator and electronic component using the same |
(57) A piezoelectric resonator (10) has a base member (12). The base member (12) includes
a plurality of piezoelectric layers laminated with internal electrodes (14) disposed
therebetween. A first vibrating section (24a) is formed in the most part of the base
member (12). In the first vibrating section (24a), adjacent piezoelectric layers sandwiching
one internal electrode (14) therebetween are polarized in opposite directions in the
longitudinal direction of the base member (12). At both sides of the first vibrating
section (24a), second vibrating sections (24b) are formed. A piezoelectric layer of
each of the second vibrating sections (24b) is polarized in the same direction as
the adjacent piezoelectric layer in the first vibrating section (24a) with an internal
electrode placed (14) therebetween. An electric field is applied in opposite directions
to adjacent piezoelectric layers disposed on both sides of an internal electrode (14)
in the base member.
