(54)	Mast arm assembly for exterior light

(57) A mast arm assembly (10) supports an electrical light fixture (12) to mounting pole (14). The mast arm assembly includes an elongate generally tubular mast arm (16) having a first end for supporting the fixture and an opposed second end for mounting to the mounting pole (14). A first mounting bracket (36) is welded to the mast arm at an intermediate location to provide temporary support of the mast arm to the mounting pole. A second mounting bracket (40) is welded to the mast arm adjacent one end to enable the mast arm to be permanently secured to the pole. The mast arm includes a pair of diametrically opposed outwardly extending longitudinal ribs (32,34). The ribs provide a weldment surface for welding the first and second mounting brackets to the mast arm.
