(57) To a recording medium for a printer containing an interlayer compound fixing and holding a water-soluble dye by an intercalation reaction which is based on the ion exchange action, optimum ink fixation properties and optimum water-proofness need to be accorded, whilst an image formed on this recording medium for a printer needs to be improved in light-fastness. To this end, there is provided a recording medium for a printer containing an interlayer compound 4 fixing and holding a water-soluble dye by an intercalation reaction which is based on the ion exchange action. At least one organic acid is contained in an amount of 5 to 100 wt% related to the interlayer compound.
