[0001] The present invention refers to a playing dice for party games comprising a body
defined by three or more side faces, each one being provided with a respective numbering
and/or score relating to the kind of party game the dice is provided for.
[0002] Playing dice of different shapes, defined by three or more faces, on which a symbol,
numbering and/or score is reproduced, are variously used in numerous party games,
depending on the kind and rules of the same game.
[0003] Conventional dice generally present a uniform colouring of the body, depending on
the material used; in some other cases groups of dice having different colourings
may be used, where the dice of each group may be all of the same colour with respect
to the rules of the game they are provided for.
[0004] An object of the present invention is to provide for a new playing dice, by which
it is possible to realise a party game according to which players effect a set of
throws of one or more dice, till reaching an established score, depending on determined
features of the same dice and following suitable rules of the game.
[0005] The innovative aspect of the playing dice according to the present invention consists
in that each face of the dice presents a different colouring from the other faces,
on which a increasing value score is reported. According to a possible variation,
in substitution or in combination with the different colourings of the dice faces,
also numbering and/or the score reproduced on the various faces of the dice may have
a different colouring.
[0006] Some preferred embodiments of a coloured playing dice according to the present invention,
will be described in the following with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the playing dice according to a first embodiment;
Figs. 2 to 7 show the six faces of the dice of fig. 1, having a different colour;
Fig. 8 shows a perspective view of a second embodiment of a dice according the invention.
[0007] In figure 1 and in figures 2 to 7 a cubic-shaped dice, indicated as a whole with
reference number 10, is shown the body of which being defined by six flat faces indicated
with reference numbers 11 to 16.
[0008] Each face of the dice 10 is provided with a respective numbering and/or score depending
on the rules and kind of the party game the dice is provided for; for example in figures
1 to 7, on the different faces of the dice an increasing score is reproduced, represented
by numbers 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 600 referring to corresponding scores of the
game; however it is evident that in substitution of the above numbers, the different
faces of the dice could present a different increasing numbering and/or score for
unit and/or tens and/or hundreds and/or thousands of units depending on the specific
requirements and rules of the game.
[0009] According to this first embodiment, the dice of the invention is characterized in
that each face 11 to 16 presents a different colouring from the other faces; this
is shown by the different dashed colour code in the various figures 2 to 7, to which
for example the following colours correspond, in the sequence to red, yellow, orange,
green, violet and silver. Colouring of the faces or of each face of the dice may be
partial or may apply to the whole surface of the same face.
[0010] In the case of figures 1 to 7, all faces of the dice have therefore different colours
from one another; however it is possible that only few faces have different colours
from one another and that the remaining faces have the same colour.
[0011] Figure 8 of the drawings shows a possible variation of the playing dice according
to the present invention. The example of figure 8 differs from the example of figure
1 as now all faces of the dice have the same colouring, while numbering and/or scores
are differently coloured on few or all faces of the dice.
[0012] It is also possible to provide for a combination between the different colouring
of the faces of the dice of figure 1 with the different colouring of the scores of
the dice of figure 8, that is the various faces of the dice and, in the same time,
the various numberings and/or scores present all different colourings.
[0013] However it is to be intended that what said and shown in the attached drawings was
given only as an example of the innovative features of the coloured playing dice according
to this invention and that other modifications and changes in colouring and/or in
combining the colours of the faces and/or the symbols, numberings and/or scores may
be applied, without departing form what claimed.
1. A playing dice for party games comprising a body defined by a plurality of side faces
(11-16), each face (11-16) of the dice (10) being provided with a respective numbering
and/or score depending on the kind of party game the dice (10) is provided for, characterized
in that each face (11-16) and/or numbering or score of the dice (10) present a different
colouring from the other faces (11-16) of the dice (10), respectively from the other
numberings and/or scores.
2. Playing dice according to claim 1, characterized in that the colouring extends to
the whole surface of a face (11-16) or part of the same.
3. Playing dice according to claim 1, characterized in that an increasing numbering or
score is reported on the faces (11-16) of the dice (10).
4. Playing dice according to claim 1, characterized in that on the faces (11-16) of the
dice (10) an increasing score by unit and/or tens and/or hundreds and/or thousands
of units is provided.
5. Playing dice according to claim 3, characterized by comprising a cubic-shaped body
having differently coloured faces (11-16), on which the following increasing score
is reported: 50 - 100 - 200 - 300 - 400- 600.
