(54) Discharge lamp electrode


(57) A discharge lamp electrode with a conductive coating having a substantial portion of graphite particles is disclosed. The coating has been found to substantially increase starting reliability, to reduce starting voltage and to generally reduce starting time. The coating is formed as mixture of a bonding matrix and graphite particles that is baked to bond it to the electrode.
