(57) A coin-operated entertainment machine of the "fruit" or "poker" variety which has axially aligned reels (9) with symbols at regular spaced intervals around their periphery. A button (6a) gives the player the option of selecting which line(s) of symbols are taken into account by selecting a game win mode. In addition, a button (6b) gives the player the option of selecting independently of the game win mode, a stake multiplication factor from the range of multiplication values. The entertainment machine also has a visual display which indicates to the player which game win mode (17) has been selected, which stake multiplication (18) has been selected, a current win likelihood and a current payout percentage (21).
