Method to improve copper corrosion performance of molybdenum dithiocarbamate active
sulfur by adding sunflower oil |
(57) Lubricating compositions are described which contain organomolybdenum compounds and
sulfur compounds (donors). The copper corrosion of said compositions is reduced by
reacting the sulfur donors with plant oils to reduce sulfur activity and thus copper
corrosion prior to the sulfur donors being added to the majority of oil to form a
lubricating composition.
