(57) Apparatus for receiving and storing items, particularly soiled items such as diapers, comprising,

a flexible container,
valving structure having an input opening and an output opening,
said valving structure constructed and arranged to receive an item through the input opening and release the item into the flexible container through the output opening after closing the input opening and opening the output opening.
