[0001] The technique of this utility model is used in the sector manufacturing shotgun accessories.
[0002] There are several types of shotgun. Cartridges are loaded and unloaded in some of
them by opening thereof, removing the empty cartridge remaining in the gun after the
previous shot and replacing it for a new one. In this type of shotgun, once the cartridge
is in one's hand, it is easy and comfortable to put the used cartridge in a suitable
bag preventing it from falling on the ground. Another type of shotgun, more and more
frequently used, are automatic ones, in which a series of cartridges may be loaded
and fired consecutively without needing to reload until they have all been fired.
Said cartridges are eliminated by their expulsion after each shot, such that their
collection is hindered and often impossible.
[0003] Moreover, the recent environmental legislation demands that the cartridges be collected
and if not the corresponding fine is imposed. A method to ascertain the number of
cartridges left in the countryside is by the number of pieces collected or if the
officer imposing the fine were nearby and had heard the shots.
[0004] To solve the problem of collection a device has been designed to collect cartridges
expelled from automatic shotguns which otherwise, due to their high temperature and
their dropping to the ground, would oblige a person not only to bend over and pick
them up, but also to wait for them to cool down.
[0005] The purpose of this invention is a device to collect used cartridges expelled from
automatic shotguns, solving the aforementioned disadvantages, providing great ease
of use.
[0006] To make the explanation easier to follow, this descriptive report is accompanied
by two pages of drawings which, by means of three figures represent the essence of
this invention.
[0007] Figure 1 shows a general view in perspective of a shot gun with the device, purpose
of this invention.
[0008] Figure 2 show a detail of the device, purpose of this invention in which the shotgun
barrel is shown, to which the cartridge collection device, purpose of this invention,
is fixed, in which the collection bag is joined to the support by means of pressure
buttons and closed with a zip.
[0009] Figure 3, shows a second execution in which the closing and fixing components have
been substituted by a fabric adhesion technique (Velcro®).
[0010] In said figures, 1 is the shotgun barrel, to which the used cartridge collection
bag and the support thereof are joined to a support 3. Said support holds a collection
channel 4 whose mouth 9 is opposite the expulsion zone 2 of the cartridge in the shotgun.
The cartridge collection bag 5, is joined to a cap or support, in turn forming the
collection channel, either statically or such that it may be detached by means of
11/12 buttonhole or pressure buttons, zip, textile adhesion means 15 or any other
suitable method.
[0011] The collection channel 4 is joined to the shotgun barrel 1, by means of a pressure
component maintaining a certain rigidity and stability in its position, having, for
example, a closing hoop 7, having at one of its ends a flange joined to a closing
ring 6. Any other pressure closing method may be likewise used provided stability
is maintained in the mouth position 9. Said position is maintained across the support
7 union 8 to the collection channel body 4.
[0012] During its exit run, the cartridge, accompanied by a certain amount of heat, is projected
against said collection channel 4, whose upper cover has a curvature, such that it
forms a lower mouth 10 to which the bag 5 mouth 13 is joined.
[0013] The collection bag, preferably of fabric, may have a practical opening. In the drawing
it has been located in the lower part, but any other position is equally valid, provided
it serves to easily empty the cartridges deposited there.
[0014] The variation of shape and sizes not essentially affecting this invention should
be understood as included within this protection.
[0015] It is of industrial application for the manufacture of shotgun accessories.
1. A device for the collection of shotgun cartridges in shotguns with automatic cartridge
expulsion, characterized for having a fixing component (7) to the shotgun, a mount
(9) of a collection channel (4) located over the expulsion area or mouth of the used
cartridges and a collection bag (5) for said cartridges, adapted to a lower mouth
(10) of said collection channel (4) is mainly fixed with respect to said cartridge
expulsion mouth (2).
2. A device for the collection of shotgun cartridges, characterized according to claim
1, because the fixing component (7) of the latter to the shotgun barrel (1) is formed
by a clamp or closing hoop with a flange and a fastening ring, which in its position
of use grips said barrel.
3. A device for the collection of shotgun cartridges, characterized, according to claim
1, because the collection bag (5) is of fabric.
4. A device for the collection of shotgun cartridges, characterized according to claims
1 and 3, because the collection bag (5) is joined to the lower mouth (10) forming
the collection channel (4) statically, by means of fastening and separation, such
as buttonhole or pressure buttons, zips, fabric adhesion and so on.
5. A device for the collection of shotgun cartridges, characterized, according to claims
1 and 3, because the collection bag (5) has means of opening (14) for the emptying
thereof.
