[0008] In the accompanying drawings, identical or similar parts of components have been
designated by the same reference numerals.
[0009] With reference first to Figures 1 and 2, the numeral 1 generally designates a jacket
according to the present invention, which comprises a body 2 which is surmounted by
shoulders 3 on which a collar 4 can be fixed; all these components can be opened at
the central front area 5 along an opening vertical line 11.
[0010] A preferably long sleeve 6 can be fixed to the body 2 at each shoulder 3.
[0011] The lower hem 7 of the body 2 has a continuous sequence of elastic ribs 8 which are
arranged to cause the jacket 1 cling to the user. Such a continuous sequence of elastic
ribs 8 can have a slight central lowering 10 at the rear portion 9 of the body 2.
[0012] Two strips of fabric 12 (a right one and a left one) can be fixed on the ventral
pan 5 just above the lower elastic hem 7, each strip comprising a horizontal stripe
with two end buttons 13. A pocket 14 is provided above each strip 12 and its access
is controlled by a closure device, e.g. a concealed zip fastener which can be opened
by acting on a ring 16 and is located under a sewn flap 15. Each opening and the respective
flap 15 extend, for example, inclined.
[0013] A lower transverse reinforcement seam 17 is provided above the pockets 14, and extends
throughout the entire body 2 and has a small flap 18 for concealing a zip fastener
19 which can be fixed to the body 2.
[0014] In a position closer to the shoulders 3, there is a further pair of front strips
of fabric 20 which are fully similar to the strips 12 and provided with buttons 21.
[0015] At the chest area there is an upper reinforcement transverse seam 22 which is slightly
inclined towards the opening line 11 in the direction away from the shoulders 3 and
also delimiting a small flap 23 to conceal a zip fastener 24 fixed to the body 2.
[0016] The opening 11 can have a vertical seam 25 which delimits a flap 26 covering the
closing means of the body 2, e.g. a zip fastener or buttons (not shown in the drawings)
and a lapel 27 which is fixed, for example sewn, to the front left side 28 of the
jacket 1 proximate to the collar 4. The lapel 27 can have a trapezoidal configuration
and can comprise a clip 29 for being secured to the right front pan 30 of the jacket
1.
[0017] The collar 4 can be closed at its front by two tabs 31 and 32: the tab 31 is fixed
to the left part 33 of the collar, whereas tab 32 is fixed to the right part 34. The
tabs 31 and 32 can be mutually connected e.g. by means of a buckle 35. The collar
4 has, at its rear region, a slightly rising portion 3b in the central part thereof.
Just below collar 4 two scapular reinforcement seams 37 are provided on the back part
9 of the jacket 1 which are connected by a transverse seam 38 which has a small flap
39 to conceal a zip fastener 40.
[0018] The back portion 9 of the jacket 1 can bear alphanumeric indications 41 between the
transverse stitches 38 and the collar 4.
[0019] Below each scapular seam 37, the back portion 9 of the trunk 2 has reinforced sides
42 which terminate at their lower region, with an elastic belt 43 which can be arranged
just above the transverse seam 17; the tension of said belt being adjustable in order
to achieve a greater or lesser tightening of the jacket 1 at the waist. The sides
42 are connected by a rear transverse seam 44 which has a slight curvature 45 toward
the lower hem 7 of the jacket 1. A ring 46 can be fixed to each side 42 and protrudes
toward the back portion 9.
[0020] The back portion has, just above the elastic lowering 10, a strip of fabric 47 having
buttons 48 at its ends.
[0021] Each sleeve 6 can have transverse seams 49 for being secured to the shoulders 3 and
the body 2, as well as longitudinal reinforcement seams 50 which extend throughout
its length. The portion 51 of each sleeve 6 that is adjacent to the body 2 proximate
to the waist can have a strap 52 secured thereto with a buckle 53, the tension of
the strap 52 being adjusted by the buckle 53 in order to cause the garment to tightly
fit around the user's arm. For this purpose, a tab 54 with a snap fastener 55 and
a respective pin 56 are fixed toward the end 57 of the sleeve 6. The end 58 of the
sleeve has an elastic hemming 59 with a clip 60 designed to further tighten it.
[0022] With reference to Figures 3 and 4, a knapsack 61 is shown which comprises an upper
closing flap 62 which extends towards the upper part 63 thereof, a rear surface 64
which has a lower strip 65 with end buttons 66 and corresponds, in use, to the strip
47 of the back portion 9 of the body 2 so as to form a Velcro fastening, and teeth
67 of a zip fastener which are fixed adjacent to the rear surface 64 along the flap
62. The teeth 67 can be engaged by the teeth 40 that lie below the transverse seam
38, thereby ensuring, together with the Velcro fastening, that the knapsack 61 is
safely secured to the jacket 1. Additional retaining action on the knapsack 61 is
provided by the presence of canneté bands 68 which are secured to the ends of the
strip 65, can be inserted into the rings 46 of the jacket 1 and closed by snap fasteners
69 provided at their ends.
[0023] The appearance assumed by the back portion 9 of the jacket 1 after the knapsack 61
has been secured to it, is shown in Figure 5.
[0024] With reference to Figure 6, it will be seen that it is likewise possible to secure
pockets 70 of different sizes to the central part 5 of the jacket 1, by using the
buttons 6 of the Velcro fastenings at the strips 12 and 20 and zip fasteners at the
teeth 19 and 24, close to the lower transverse seams 17 and upper transverse seams
22, respectively. The face in view of the left tab 31 for closing the collar 4 can
also act as a support for alphanumeric indications 71.
[0025] With reference to Figures 7 and 8, the reference numeral 72 generally designates
a pair of trousers according to the invention, which comprise an upper hem 73 with
a belt 74 which is provided with a buckle 75 and passes through loops 76, a ventral
opening 77 which extends from the upper hem 73 almost to the crotch 78, is concealed
by a flap 79 retained by a seam 80 and is provided with buttons or a zip fastener
(not shown in the drawings), lower turns up 81 which can be secured by Velcro fastenings
82 preferably located on the outer part 83 of each leg 72a and 72b, Starting from
the lower turns up 81, at the Velcro fastenings 82, the trouser legs 72a and 72b have,
on their outer side 83, at least one flap 84 which tapers away from said lower turns
up 81.
[0026] Each trouser leg 72a and 72b can have a knee pad 85 reinforced by two front seams
86 and a transverse rear seams 87 which reaches the upper hem 73 through a corresponding
longitudinal seam 88. Above the front seam 86, toward the crotch 78, an insert 89
made of elastic fabric can be applied whilst the thigh region 90 can be provided with
a transverse strip of fabric 91 with buttons 92 at its ends.
[0027] Front seams 94 inclined with respect to sides 93 extend from the crotch 78 to the
upper hem 73 and comprise canneté fabric provided with teeth 95 of a zip fastener.
[0028] A pocket 96 is illustrated in Figures 9 and 10 which comprises an upper closure flap
97, which extends towards its front part 98, a rear portion 99, which has at a lower
region thereof a strip of fabric 100 with end buttons 101 corresponding, in use, to
the strip 91 of the trousers 72 so as to form together a Velcro fastening; and teeth
102 of a zip fastener which are fixed adjacent to the rear surface 99 at the flap
97. The pocket 96 has an upper end 103 having teeth 102 and being inclined so as to
follow, in use, the transverse front seam 94 of the trousers 72. The flap 97 can be
closed on the front part 98 of pocket 96, e.g. by means of a Velcro fastening 104.
The teeth 102 of the pocket 96 can be coupled to the teeth 95 located below the corresponding
transverse seam 94, so as to constitute, together with the Velcro fastening formed
by the strips 91 and 100, a reliable means for retaining the pocket 96 on the trousers
72.
[0029] Figures 11 and 12 illustrate trousers 72 with pockets 96 secured by means of zip
fasteners and buttons or Velcro fastenings. The pockets 96 are provided an outer side
of each thigh 90 so that they can be of easy access for the user's hands.
[0030] In any case, the user can easily apply or remove the accessories 61, 70 and 96 described
above both from the jacket 1 and from the trousers 72 and put them on simply by acting
on the sliders of zip fasteners and by applying a slight pressure to the buttons or
Velcro fastenings.
[0031] It will be noted that multipurpose jacket 1 and trousers 72 according to the invention
achieve all the above mentioned objects; in particular, they can receive removable
accessories for accommodating objects in general.
[0032] The dimensions may vary according to the requirements.
[0033] Numerous modifications and variations can be made to the invention within the scope
defined by the appended claims.
