[0001] The object of the present invention consists of a
Concrete part for configuring pillars.
[0002] It is specifically devised as a moulded constructive member which, upon being assembled
with other like pans, makes up a prismatic enclosure having a right polygonal cross-section;
and upon identically composed layers being evenly superimposed, a hollow right prism
is configured with the desired height which, when duly filled with mass concrete (and,
where appropriate, reinforced concrete), becomes a pillar which may suitably form
part of a simple architectural structure.
[0003] In a preferred embodiment, four parts are arranged at right angles every two consecutive
parts, configuring a right prism with a square cross-section.
[0004] In accordance with the above composition, the concrete pan subject of this Patent
application has a twofold utility:
a) - As a non-removable shuttering for configuring pillars.
b) - As a coating means, for it remains stuck to the surface of the pillar once the
pillar is moulded and sets.
[0005] Because it is so simple to use, it may easily be employed by non-professionals (do-it-yourself
enthusiasts) in elementary applications: for instance, pillars for walls enclosing
plots of land.
[0006] Furthermore, because the part is serially made by moulding, its visible face can
be made to have different appearances, changing its aesthetic features (texture, colour,
mock brick bonds, etc.), the range of choices being widely assorted.
PRIOR ART
[0007] Given the singular application of the part subject of this invention, there are no
known constructive elements in the same field of technology, designed to perform a
similar function, with the twofold utility of said object.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The functional characteristics of the part subject of the invention were listed in
the foregoing description, as concerns its application.
[0009] As regards use, the part has certain formal characteristics that expedite its above
application, allowing it to be assembled horizontally in layers and vertically by
superimposing such layers.
[0010] With reference to horizontal assembly, a preferred embodiment of the part is generally
rectangular in shape and is provided on its dorsal face, next to one of its short
sides, with a transverse rectangular notch that is slightly greater in width than
the width of the part on the opposite short side, in order for the latter short side
to be slid into the notch of another part, which shall be arranged on a plane perpendicular
to that of the first part, the enclosure consisting of a layer of parts on the perimeter
of the pillar being completed with a further two equally assembled parts.
[0011] In order for the layers to be vertically assembled, the part is provided on the dorsal
face of its two long sides, with extensions on the dorsal plane, their shape and size
matching those of recesses lying between the same, in order for the extensions to
face the recesses respectively provided in the superimposed layers, to which end both
the top and the lower layers must be inversely directed.
[0012] In an embodiment which is the preferred embodiment because of its simplicity, the
length of the extensions is the same as one-half that of the long sides and the projection
equal to that of the recess provided in the other half.
[0013] The front face of the part, which is visible, can be given various aesthetic treatments
(texture, colour) reproducing the appearance of natural (cut-stone) or artificial
(brick) materials, in the latter case with different bonds, with or without separating
joints.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0014] Drawings are attached for a filler description of the invention and an easier understanding
of the formal, structural and functional features thereof, which schematically show
various elements of a preferred embodiment of the concrete part for configuring pillars
subject of the present Patent.
[0015] In the drawings, all of which refer to the preferred embodiment,
[0016] Figure 1 is a dorsal elevation view of the part; figure 2 is a view of the right-hand
transverse profile thereof; figure 3 of the left-hand transverse profile; and figure
4 of its longitudinal profile.
[0017] The figures all pertain to the same part, with its front face reproducing the appearance
of a cut piece of masonry without any separating joints.
DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0018] In order to clearly show the nature and scope of advantageous application of the
concrete part for configuring pillars subject of the invention, its structure and
operation will now be described with reference to the drawings, which represent a
preferred embodiment of said object for informative purposes and should therefore
be construed in the broadest sense and not so to limit the application and contents
of the invention.
[0019] The concrete part is a moulded constructive member which, upon being assembled with
other like parts, makes up a prismatic enclosure having a right polygonal cross-section.
[0020] In a preferred embodiment, the cross-section is square and consists of four identical
parts arranged at right angles every two consecutive parts.
[0021] Upon identically composed layers being evenly superimposed, a hollow right prism
is configured with the desired height which, when duly filled with mass concrete,
becomes a pillar which may suitably form part of a simple architectural structure.
[0022] In the preferred embodiment, the part is generally rectangular in shape and is provided
on its dorsal face, next to one of its short sides, with a transverse rectangular
notch (1) that is slightly greater in width than the width of the edge (2) of the
part on the opposite short side, in order for the latter short side to be slid into
the notch (1) of another part, which shall be arranged on a plane perpendicular to
that of the first part, the enclosure consisting of a layer of parts on the perimeter
of the pillar being completed with a further two equally assembled parts.
[0023] In order for the layers to be vertically assembled, the part is provided on the dorsal
face of its two long sides, with extensions, their shape and size matching those of
recesses lying between the same, in order for the extensions to face the recesses
respectively provided in the superimposed layers, to which end both the top and the
lower layers must be inversely directed.
[0024] In a preferred embodiment, the length of the extensions is the same as one-half of
the long sides and the projection (3) equal to that of the recess (4) provided in
the other half.
[0025] The front face (5) of the part, which is visible upon assembly, can be given various
aesthetic treatments as regards texture and colour, reproducing the appearance of
natural or artificial materials, with or without separating joints between the reproduced
parts and with various bonds in the case of bricks.
