BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This invention relates to an improved structure for golf glove, and more particularly
to a golf glove provided with a plurality of spaced ribs on the palm side of the glove.
By means of the ribs, the golfer can hold the golf club steadily and correctly. The
ribs are also helpful to prevent the golf club slipping from the golfer's hand.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
[0002] Golf is a very popular sport nowadays. In addition to the sport, various benefits
can be achieved by playing golf, such as relaxation. When playing golf, golf glove
is one of essential outfits. However, it is fount that the conventional golf glove
merely aims to provide impact buffer between golfer's hand and the golf club when
striking a golf ball. No other function has been seriously considered. To a golf beginner,
how to hold the golf club correctly is very important. To an experienced golfer, how
to hold the golf club steadily to preventing the golf club slipping is important to
play the game well. Various reasons may cause the golf club slipping from golfer's
hand, such as rain or sweat.
[0003] Thus, it is desirable to provide an improved golf glove which is capable of overcoming
the above problems of the prior art.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Consequently, it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a golf glove
with a plurality of spaced ribs on the palm side of the glove. By means of the ribs,
the golfer can hold the golf club correctly.
[0005] The other object of the present invention is to provide a golf glove with rib structure
capable of preventing the golf club slipping from golfer's hand. So, the golfer may
hold the golf club securely and steadily even in a wet condition.
[0006] To further understand the present invention, reference is made to the following detailed
description of a preferred embodiment of the present invention, as well as the attached
drawings, wherein:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
[0007]
- Fig. 1
- is a perspective view showing the golf glove in accordance with the present invention;
- Fig. 2
- is a schematic cross-sectional view of the present invention, illustrating that the
ribs formed on the palm side of the golf glove of the present invention contact with
the golf club when a golfer hold the golf club; and
- Figs. 3A to 3D
- are fragmentary cross-sectional views illustrating the ribs of the present invention
may be in various forms.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0008] With reference to Fig. 1, it shows that a golf glove 1 of the present invention is
provided with a plurality of transverse ribs formed on the palm side of the glove.
The ribs are spaced from each other and located on a suitable position on the glove
so as to facilitate the gripping of a golf club for the user.
[0009] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the golf glove is provided with
five ribs arranged on the palm surface of the glove. A first rib row 31 is arranged
at tipper section of the index finger 22, the middle finger 23, the third finger 24,
and the fourth finger 25 respectively. A second rib row 32 is arranged at lower section
of the index finger 22, the middle finger 23, the third finger 24, and the fourth
finger 25, near the palm portion of the glove. A third rib row 33 is formed across
the upper portion of the palm surface. A fourth rib row 34 is formed across at a middle
portion of the palm surface. A fifth rib row 35 formed across at a lower portion of
the palm surface with an end extending to the second knuckle portion of the thumb
21.
[0010] When in use, each rib is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the golf
club, as shown in Fig.2. In addition, each rib on the palm side of the glove closely
contacts with the golf club. The golfer thus may hold the golf club steadily and correctly.
It is also helpful to prevent the golf club slipping from the golfer's hand when the
glove is damp because of his sweat in sunny day or wet in rainy day.
[0011] Figs. 3A through 3D show various preferable rib forms in accordance with the present
invention. Fig. 3A shows the rib may be in a form of convex type rib. Fig. 3B shows
the rib may be in a form of triangle type rib with a smooth tip. Fig. 3C shows the
rib may be in a form of rectangular type rib with smooth edges. Fig. 3D shows the
rib may be in a form of slant triangle type rib.
[0012] It is to be understood that the above description and drawings are only used for
illustrating some embodiments of the present invention, not intended to limit the
scope thereof. Any variation and derivation from the above description and drawings
should be included in the scope of the present invention.
