AIM OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This invention refers to, as the title indicates, an improved pair of trousers which
includes a strip of fabric which is to be found sewn to the waistband of the trousers,
protruding from the top and is finished off at the top with an elastic waistband which
acts as a supporting element of the trousers.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
[0002] At present it is usual for the young people to wear items of clothing of larger sizes
than they need; this fashion brings about, in the case of trousers, that the waistband
becomes larger than needed, leaving the trousers resting below what would be their
normal position.
[0003] The wearing of larger sizes causes the trousers to hang in a lower than normal position,
leaving on view a part of the underwear and so can finish up uncomfortable if the
trousers fall excessively.
[0004] The use of such supporting elements such as belts or braces is not acceptable to
the wearers, since the braces are practically unused and the belts on going round
the waistband of the trousers cause the appearance of a series of gathers or pleats
all around the trousers.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The improved trousers which are the object of this invention display a series of
construction peculiarities which provide the above mentioned wearers with some advantages
in their use, equally from the aspect of function and also from the aspect of appearance.
[0006] In accordance with the invention, the trousers with which we are dealing, display
the peculiarity of including a strip of fabric which has its lower part sewn to the
waistband of the trousers and where the upper part is finished off, with an elastic
waistband the aim being to encircle the body of the wearer acting as a supporting
element for the trousers.
[0007] It is planned that this strip of fabric has a length which is noticeably the same
as the waistband of the trousers and a width greater than this latter, in such a way
that on wearing the trousers, the mentioned strip of fabric partially protrudes over
the waistband of the trousers themselves.
[0008] In accordance with this invention, this strip of fabric will be made from materials
similar to those used for the manufacture of underwear in such a way that, it is partially
sticking out above the waistband of the trousers, and will remain visible, it will
appear as though it is really the upper edge of an item of underwear.
[0009] In order to avoid that the lower edge of this strip of fabric is left in a visible
position, permitting the above mentioned imitation of the underwear, this strip will
be sewn to the waistband of the trousers, by the interior side of it.
[0010] Given that the elastic waistband can remain in a visible position during the wearing
of the trousers, the invention provides that said elastic waistband can display, at
least on the external surface some advertising motifs, printed, embroidered, sewn,
stuck or defined or fixed by any other method onto it.
[0011] So that the elastic waistband can serve as a supporting element for the trousers
when encircling the body of the wearer, this means when it is in its normal position,
without stretching, it will have a lesser length than the length of the waistband
of the trousers themselves.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0012] In order to complement the description that is being made and with the object of
helping to give a greater understanding of the nature of the invention, the following
set of drawings is attached to this description which are an integral part of same
and are as an illustrative basis and are not limiting to that which is represented:
Figure 1 shows a partial view of the improved trousers which are the object of this
invention, in which the strip of fabric can be seen provided with the corresponding
strip of elastic and sewn to the waistband of the trousers.
Figure 2 shows a view in perspective the strip of fabric with the elastic waistband
but without the rest of the trousers.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The improved trousers which are the object of this invention display the peculiarity
of including a strip of fabric -1- whose lower edge is sewn to the waistband -21-
of the conventional trousers -2-, the upper edge of this strip of fabric -1- being
finished off with an elastic waistband -11-.
[0014] The strip of fabric -1- has a length which is noticeably the same as the waistband
-21- of the trousers -2- and a width which is greater than the height of it, in such
a way that on wearing the trousers, the elastic waistband -11- and a part of the strip
of fabric -1- overlaps the waistband -21-of the trousers leaving it visible.
[0015] The aim of the elastic waistband -11- is to encircle the body of the wearer acting
as a means of support for the trousers -2-.
[0016] As can be seen in Figure 1, the lower edge of the strip of fabric -1- remains in
a position inside of the waistband -21- of the trousers, being attached to it by the
same seam -22- which attaches the waistband -21- to the rest of the trousers -2-.
[0017] The strip -1- will be made from a fabric which is normally used for the manufacture
of underwear, said strip of fabric -1- and the elastic waistband -11- will imitate
the upper part of an item of underwear.
[0018] As is shown in the example of the make up, which is represented in the figures, the
elastic waistband -11- can display, at least on the external surface, some advertising
motifs -12-, defined or fixed onto it by any conventional method.
[0019] It is not considered necessary to make the description more complete as any expert
in this subject can understand the scope of the invention and the advantages that
derive from it.
[0020] The terminology used in the drafting of this memorandum is always to be taken in
the widest sense and are not limiting.
[0021] The materials, method, size and arrangement of the elements are capable of being
varied if and when it does not assume a modification of the essential nature of the
invention the following claims are made.
1. Improved trousers characterized in that are comprise of a strip of fabric (1) whose
lower edge is sewn to the waistband (21) of the trousers (2) and whose upper edge
is finished off with an elastic waistband (11) which will encircle the body of the
wearer acting as an element of support for the trousers (2).
2. The trousers, according to the above claim, characterized in that the strip of fabric
(1) which is displayed, has noticeably the same length as the waistband (21) of the
trousers (2).
3. The trousers, according to the above claims, characterized in that the strip of fabric
(1) displays a width greater than the height of the waistband (21) of the trousers
(2), partially sticking out above it to imitate the upper part of an item of underwear.
4. The trousers, according to the above claims, characterized in that the lower edge
of the strip of fabric (1) is sewn to the waistband (21) of the trousers (2) by the
interior side of it.
5. The trousers, according to the above claims, characterized in that the elastic waistband
(11) displays, at least on the external surface some advertising motifs (12), printed,
embroidered, sewn, stuck or defined or fixed by any other method onto it.
6. The trousers, according to the above claims, characterized in that the elastic waistband
(11) displays, when they are in their normal position, a lesser length than the length
of the waistband (21) of the trousers (2).
