    Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

    [0001] The present invention refers to a cushion with a removable cover that has been improved in certain structural aspects of the same in order to achieve new performance qualities and advantages with respect to conventional cushions of the same type.

    [0002] The object of the invention is none other than the providing a cushion with means that allow easy removal of the cover so that the cover can be washed without any problems. For this purpose, the cushion in question, being of the type that incorporates some outside buttons that provide it with a better aesthetic appearance, has the particularity that said buttons are snappable/unsnappable with respect to the buttoning elements or clips provided inside the core that constitutes the padding protected by the cover, which enables the liberation of the cover with respect to the padded core without having to do more than to unbutton the buttons and open the closing means (such as a zipper) of such a cover.

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

    [0003] There are cushions that, irrespective of their shape, thickness and nature, have a cover and a padded core that is inside the cover, such a cover having means for closing an opening through which the padded core can be inserted/removed.

    [0004] Among said type of cushions, there is one that incorporates outside some buttons arranged on both larger surfaces and connected together by pairs face to face. In other words, the button provided on one surface is opposite another one provided on the opposite surface and both are connected together by means of a cord or string whose length is less than the thickness of the cushion, so that the classic recesses are formed in the cushion in correspondence with the location points of the buttons.

    [0005] In said type of cushions, each time that the cover has to be released in order to be washed, it is necessary to first liberate the buttons, which proves to be bothersome due to the difficulty involved in unfastening such buttons from the cord or strip that keeps them connected.

    [0006] French patent application 1 160 806 describes bed linen articles such as duvets, mattresses, etc. and covers or the like for said articles. The bed linen articles to be covered have areas to define compartments where no stuffing is inserted. These areas are used to locate the union means between the article and its cover, and said union means may even perform the partition between the compartments.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

    [0007] The cushion of the invention has as a basic novel characteristic the fact that the outside buttons, instead of being connected together in pairs face to face, by means of cords or strings that are difficult to unfasten, they are kept in their position by snapping each one of said buttons in a buttoning element or clip located in the padded core, for which reason it will suffice to pull on the button in order to achieve its liberation with respect to the inside retaining or buttoning element, and thus permit the cover being removed from the cushion without any problem, since the buttons are fastened to the cover, while the buttoning elements or clips for fastening the buttons, are fastened to the padded core.

    [0008] Obviously, the fastening of each buttoning element or clip to the padded core can be carried out by any appropriate means, although in a preferred embodiment they will be arranged in pairs and connected together face to face by means of a transversal string, the clasps of each pair being on both surfaces of the core, in order to button the same of the respective buttons provided for outside on the respective surfaces of the cover.

    [0009] In this way, the buttons can be very easily fastened and unfastened with respect to the inside retaining elements or clips that have just been referred to, it being easy and simple to put on and remove the cover from the corresponding cushion.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

    [0010] In order to complete that description that is going to be made hereinafter and for the purpose of providing a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, the present specification is accompanied by a set of drawings on the basis of which the innovations and advantages of the cushion object of the invention will be more easily understood.

    Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a conventional cushion provided on each one of its larger surfaces with two buttons fastened or retained in accordance with the improvements of the invention.

    Figure 2 shows a sectional view taken on cutting line A-B of the preceding figure, allowing one to see the way in which the buttons are fastened or buttoned.

    Figure 3 shows another sectional view like the one of the preceding figure but with the buttons unbuttoned, permitting the cushion to be removed from the cover.

    PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

    [0011] As can be seen in the cited figures, the cushion (1) of the invention, which may have any shape or design and be of any appropriate nature, includes a padded core (2) and a removable cover (3), the latter provided on one side with a zipper (4), in order to be able to introduce and/or remove the padded core (2) through the opening that the zipper (4) closes, in other words, in order to be able to put on/remove the cover from the cushion itself, all of this as it is conventionally done.

    [0012] The cited cushion (1) incorporates on both larger surfaces, obviously corresponding to the top and bottom, respective pairs of buttons (5), without ruling out that each surface incorporates a single button or more than two.

    [0013] In any case, said buttons (5) are formed and connected outside and permanently to the removable cover (3), with the particularity that the pulling towards the inside of the buttons (5) in order to achieve the depressed or recessed areas on the surface of the cushion, is done by means of the fastening of such buttons (5) to corresponding means provided for this purpose in the inside. These means, in the preferred embodiment and as one of the basic characteristics of the invention, are constituted by fastening elements (6) provided inside and connected face to face by pairs by means of a string or cord (7) that transversally passes through to the core (2) and that constitutes fastening means of both fastening elements (6), to which the respective buttons (5) can be buttoned and unbuttoned, carrying out the snapping, while in order to achieve the unfastening the button itself will have to be pulled by hand outward.

    [0014] Logically, the buttons (5) should have on the inside an element (8) complementary to the buttoning means or clips (6), while the latter will have some elements or hooks (9) for the string or cord for connecting each pair.

    [0015] In the buttoning position of the buttons (5), as represented in figure 2, a pulling of the buttons towards the inside is produced and therefore a recess in the cushion is produced, in correspondence with each button; while when such buttons (5) are unbuttoned, as represented in figure 3, an operation that is carried out with total ease without any type of problem, the removable cover (3) is unfastened from the core (2), it being possible to remove the cover from the cushion by simple removal of the cited padded core (2) through the opening that the zipper (4) of the removable cover (3) closes.

    Claims

    1. A cushion (1) with a removable cover (3) having:

    a padded core (2);

    an outside removable cover (3) provided with a plurality of outside buttons (5), said outside buttons (5) being located, fastened and pulled inside to define recesses on the cushion (1);
