(54)	A drinks can with a protective film

(57) A can for beverages or other liquids for human consumption of a stay-on-tab type which includes a cylindrical body (11) with a top closure wall (12) having a tab portion (12a) which folds into the can when an opening ring (14) is pulled. The can includes a protective film (15) preliminarily coupled to the top wall (12) so as to cover and adhere to at least the external surface of the tab portion (12a). A gripping element (16, 20) is secured to the protective film (15) for uncovering the outer surface of the tab portion (12a) before the can is opened. The protective film (15) is preferably attached, either directly or indirectly, to the can to prevent it from being dispersed as litter separately from the can once this has been opened.
