(57) A device and a method for directing the gas flow in a gas return conduit to the fuel container of a fuel dispensing device when filling a motor vehicle with fuel are disclosed. The device has a means in the vehicle, which communicates by magnetic interaction with a gas flow control means in the fuel dispensing device.
