(54) Mixer for concrete and similar mixtures provided with mixing shafts with double motorization

(57) The present invention relates to a mixer for concrete and similar mixtures, of the type provided with a rectangular mixing tank (2), on whose lateral walls (4) the ends of two counter-rotating parallel mixing shafts with horizontal axis are fitted, it being provided that each end of each shaft is coupled with a geared motor (5) of standard size and power located externally on the bearing wall (4) of the tank (2).

Description

[0001] The present patent application relates to a mixer for concrete and similar mixtures, provided with two mixing shafts with horizontal axis assisted by double motorization.

[0002] As it is known, mixers for concrete or similar mixtures currently comprise a large tank with two counter-rotating shafts with horizontal axis, on which series of radial arms used to mix the compound contained in the tank are fitted.

[0003] According to the current technology, each shaft is fitted and supported on two opposite walls of the tank, it being also provided that on the outside of the tank one end of each shaft is coupled with the geared motor capable of rotating the shaft, while the other end of the shaft is supported by a suitable bearing fixed to the wall of the tank.

[0004] In view of the poor fluidity of the compounds to be mixed, each mixing shaft is assisted by a very powerful geared motor.

[0005] This particular requirement has so far hindered the building of larger mixers, since the mixing of large volumes of compound requires the adoption of geared motors with higher dimensions and more power compared to the models currently produced by manufacturers.

[0006] For this reason, users in need of larger mixers have been so far forced to ask manufacturers to design and produce "special" geared motors with very high power, involving great difficulties and expenses.

[0007] The purpose of the present invention is to realise mixers with very large mixing tanks with respect to ordinary mixers, thus avoiding the need of manufacturing the expensive "special" geared motors with large dimensions mentioned above.

[0008] According to the present invention, a pair of standard geared motors is fitted to each mixing shaft of the mixer. More precisely, each geared motor must be applied to one end of the mixing shaft externally on the tank wall.

[0009] It appears obvious that such a mixing shaft can be provided with high power - that is the power of the two geared motors - without requesting special parts or modifying the general structure of the mixer.

[0010] For major clarity the description of the invention continues with reference to the enclosed drawings, which are intended for purposes of illustration and not in a limiting sense, whereby fig. 1, 2 and 3 are a side view, a front view and a top view, respectively, of the mixer according to the present invention.

[0011] With reference to the enclosed figures, the mixer (1) according to the present invention comprises a rectangular mixing tank (2) provided with a cover (3) with lateral openings (3a). The ends of two counter-rotating parallel mixing shafts with horizontal axis are fitted to the transversal walls (4) of the tank (2).

[0012] As mentioned earlier, the main characteristic of the invention is represented by the fact that each end of each shaft is coupled with a geared motor (5) of standard dimensions and power located externally on the bearing wall (4) of the tank (2).

Claims

1. Mixer for concrete and similar mixtures, of the type provided with a preferably rectangular mixing tank (2), on whose transversal walls (4) the ends of two counter-rotating parallel mixing shafts with horizontal axis are fitted to support corresponding series of radial mixing arms, characterised in that each end of each shaft is coupled with a geared motor (5) located externally on the corresponding transversal wall (4) of the tank (2).
