(57) An ink supply system for an ink jet printer comprising a buffering reservoir (2) having an outlet (7) communicating with a print engine, an ink feed means (4) communicating with an ink supply, and a weir means (8), wherein the ink feed means and the weir means cooperate to maintain a constant head of pressure within the reservoir.
