[0001] The invention relates to a composition toy of the type comprising a main template
in the form of a human figure, and a number of secondary templates which reproduce
clothing articles or complements which may be added to the main template.
[0002] Toys of this type are already known in which the templates are made from paper or
cardboard, with the secondary templates provided with tabs projection out from the
template perimeter which may be folded backwards in order to be used as anchoring
tabs to the main template. Among these toys may be mentioned the well-known cut-out
dolls, in which the main template corresponds to the body of a girl or woman and the
secondary templates represent dresses or other complements.
[0003] The main and secondary templates are not very resistant and the anchoring system
to of the secondary templates to the main one is not very secure. In addition, the
described construction cannot create sets of figures which represent real-life scenes
or postures.
[0004] The object of the present invention is to solve the aforementioned problems by means
of a toy of the aforementioned type constructed so that templates are more resistant,
assembly of the secondary templates on the primary one is simple, fast and secure,
and in addition allows to compose sets which resemble scenes or groups of people.
[0005] According to the present invention, the main and secondary templates bear magnetically
attracting particles, so that the attraction is strong enough to ensure their mutual
anchoring.
[0006] The particles of either template may consist of magnetised particles or include magnetised
and ferromagnetic particles.
[0007] The number and arrangement of these particles in either template is such that the
secondary templates may be attached to the primary template by magnetic attraction
between the magnetic particles, when the secondary templates are placed on the primary
one.
[0008] Preferably, the main and secondary templates shall be made of plastic, paper or cardboard,
with the magnetic and ferromagnetic particles embedded in them.
[0009] The main template may consists of a plastic, paper or cardboard sheet resembling
the outline of a human body, with a sheet attached to one of its surfaces bearing
the image of a person.
[0010] Secondary templates may be similarly constructed and also show on one surface embossings
which resemble the complement represented by said templates, which may be obtained
by adding products such as paper or fabric allowing a greater realism for the complements
they represent.
[0011] The toy of the invention may also include a secondary template in the form of a panel,
of considerably larger surface area than the main and secondary templates, which shall
serve as a support for adhering one or more main templates, bearing secondary templates,
in order to represent situations or groups of people.
[0012] The characteristics of the toy of the invention may be better understood in view
of the following description, made with reference to the accompanying drawings, which
show an example of a preferred embodiment for purposes of illustration only and in
no way meant as a definition of the limits of the invention.
[0013] In these drawings:
Figure 1 is a front elevation view of a main template which represents a female human
figure, bearing secondary templates which resemble clothing items.
Figure 2 shows a cross section of the main template along the II-II line, enlarged.
Figure 3 shows a partial cross section of the set of figure 1, along the III-III line,
enlarged.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a secondary support template, to which have been
added several main templates In order to compose a scene or group.
[0014] The toy of the invention, as shown in figures 1 to 3, comprises a main template labeled
(1) which faithfully represents the outline of a human figure, such as a girl or woman.
This template, as shown in figure 2, comprises a plastic sheet (2) with the outline
of a human figure, on one of whose surface is adhered a thinner paper sheet (3) on
which are printed the features and physical characteristics of the figure reproduced.
[0015] Plastic sheet (2) which forms the main template conceals magnetised particles (4).
[0016] The toy is complemented by secondary templates (5) and (6) which reproduce clothing
items or complements. In the example shown in the figures template (5) reproduces
a sweater or T-shirt, while template (6) reproduces a skirt. These templates, as may
be seen in figure 3, also comprise a plastic sheet (7) concealing ferromagnetic particles
(8).
[0017] With the aforementioned construction when secondary templates (5) and (6) are placed
on main template (1) they shall adhere to each other by the attraction of magnetic
particles (4) of the main template to ferromagnetic particles (8) of the secondary
templates.
[0018] The secondary templates may bear embossings (9) on their outer surface which may
be made from paper or fabric portions attached to the outer surface of sheet (7) of
the secondary templates, so that they represent the clothing items more faithfully.
[0019] With the aforementioned construction secondary templates may be designed which reproduce
several types and styles of clothing, as well as complements of different nature.
[0020] The toy of the invention may include a secondary template (9), figure 4, having a
large surface area, constructed similarly to that described with reference to figure
3. Template (9) shall serve as a support for placing several main templates (1) which
represent several figures, in order to compose scenes or groups. In addition, on secondary
template (9) may be placed main templates (1') which resemble animals, trees, houses,
etc. so that real-life scenes may be composed thus making the toy more attractive.
[0021] Both main template (1) and secondary templates (5), (6) and (9) may be made from
plastic, cardboard or similar materials.
[0022] Although in the example described above main template (1) bears the magnetic particles
and secondary templates bear the ferromagnetic particles, this may be vice versa,
or they may all have magnetic particles.
1. Composition toy comprising a main template (1) resembling several figures, such as
a human body, and a number of secondary templates (5, 6) which resemble clothing items
or complements which may be added to said main template (1), characterised in that
said templates (1,5,6) bear magnetically attracting particles (4,8) with sufficient
attraction force to ensure attachment between main template (1) and secondary templates
(5,6).
2. Toy as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that main template (1) and secondary templates
(5,6) bear magnetic particles (4).
3. Toy as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that among all templates (1,5,6) some
bear magnetic particles (4) and others bear ferromagnetic particles (8).
4. Toy as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that main templates (1) and secondary
templates (5,6) are made of plastic or cardboard, inside which are concealed magnetic
particles (4) or ferromagnetic particles (8).
5. Toy as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that main template (1) reproduces the
outline of a human body and in that attached to one of its surfaces is a thin sheet
with the same shape, on which are printed the figure and features of a person.
6. Toy as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that secondary templates (5,6) each bear
on one of their surfaces a embossing completing the figure of the complement which
said templates represent.
7. Toy as claimed in claim 1 characterised in that it comprises a secondary template
(9) in the form of a panel of considerably greater surface area than main template
(1), which serves as a support for adhering one or more main templates (1).
