(57) A molded case circuit breaker housing (10) employs a tri-furcated design that imparts structural stability and manufacturing efficiency. The design provides a separate top-cover (16), mid-cover (14) and base (12) wherein the mid-cover wall (92, 94) height to base wall (32, 34) height ratio is such that the stresses imparted upon the base sidewalls (32, 34) when pressures are exerted, for example, by gaseous discharges are withstood.
