PURPOSE
[0001] The purpose of this request for Patent is a child's seesaw that provides various
advantages for the function for which it intended and which will be detailed later
on, apart from others inherent to its organization and constitution.
HISTORY
[0002] At present children's seesaws are known, made up of elongated bodies that have one
or various seats arranged in a symmetrical way provided with handles to hold on to
at their ends and that articulate on a support through their transversal symmetry
axis, so that the children at either end can alternately push with their legs upwards,
giving rise to an oscillatory up and down movement from one side to the other in an
alternating way.
[0003] These seesaws are generally made up of heavy units with sophisticated mounting that
are usually installed permanently in parks and gardens, together with other children's
playthings.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The child's seesaw, purpose of this request for Patent, is
characterized by the fact it is made up of a set of lightweight molded parts, easily
assembled by joining the parts and with the help of conventional tools, so that it
can be installed in any place, such as in the gardens of private homes, school patios,
etc.
[0005] This seesaw consists of en elongated body that has a seat at each end in the shape
of crocodiles able to slide, with the peculiarity that said crocodiles have an articulated
upper jaw, so that its upper teeth clash against a series of projections suitably
located on the elongated body, in such a way that said seats in the shape of a crocodile
open and close the mouth on sliding along said seats.
[0006] On the central zone of this elongated part that are means able to receive under pressure
some caps the upper part of which is coupled under the respective vertices of a basically
rectangular platform, fastening handles placed on the ends of the platform on each
side by means of spherical nuts so that the children can hold on to both side of the
seesaw.
[0007] Likewise, two toy ducks are installed on the platform in the opposing elongated direction
that transversally articulate on said platform, so that during the swinging of the
seesaw the ducks knock with their beaks two zones that respectively represent feeding
troughs for ducks.
[0008] This set is mounted on a ribbed body on the sides of which two lateral supports,
representing two animals, are coupled by tongue and groove joint means, with the peculiarity
that a filled axis is placed on top of the ribbed body. This fixed axis is transversally
attached through the center to the central zone of the above described elongated body
so that the ends of said axis are attached to respective parts in the form of dummies
that are introduced through two holes of the lateral supports corresponding to the
mouth of the animals, thus permitting the swinging action of the elongated part. Thus
the children move along in their seats in the form of a crocodile whilst the crocodiles
open and closed their mouths in turn when their teeth hit the consecutive projections
and the ducks alternately peck at one or the other feeding trough.
[0009] In order to complement the description which follows and to help with a better understanding
of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report includes a set of
drawings in which the most significant details are represented in an illustrative
but not limiting way.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0010] Figure 1 shows a view of the child's seesaw when assembled.
[0011] Figures 2 to 10 show respective erection phases of said child's seesaw.
[0012] Figure 11 shows a detailed view in which the attachment of a part in the shape of
a dummy to one end of the axis is indicated, which provides the swinging of the elongated
body that includes the seats of the seesaw.
[0013] Figure 12 shows a detailed view in which one of the two ducks is indicated. These
are found transversally articulated on the center of said platform.
DESCRIPTION OF A PERFORMANCE EXAMPLE OF THE INVENTION
[0014] In view of the figures commented above and in accordance with the numbering used,
a performance example can be seen that does not limit the scope of the invention and
which consists of a child's seesaw made up of a set of lightweight molded parts easily
assembled by means of the mutual assembly between parts and the use of conventional
tools, thus obtaining, once assembled, the set shown in figure 1.
[0015] The seesaw consists of a basically rectangular platform -1on the ends of which handles
are mounted -2-.
[0016] Furthermore, two toy ducks -4- (figure 12) are installed on the center of said platform
-1- in the opposite and elongated direction, joined between themselves, that transversally
articulate on the center of said platform -1- (figure 3) so that during swinging of
the seesaw said ducks -4- also swing, with one and the other alternately pecking with
their respective bills -4a- at the two feeding troughs -1a-, suitably installed on
said platform -1- by means of nuts -3- (figure 4).
[0017] This platform -1- is mounted with four nuts -11- through the lower part of their
caps on means combined -5- with same, that symmetrically surface from the center of
an elongated and symmetrical body -6- the ends of which have been provided with two
seats -7- able to slide along the elongated body -6-. These seats are in the form
of an articulated upper jaw crocodile -7a- with the upper teeth arranged to hit against
a series of projections -8- that stick out from the upper face of said elongated body
-6-, resulting in the opening and closing of said jaws when said seats slide (figure
3).
[0018] The invention also includes a ribbed body -9- joined by tongue and grooved means
to two lateral supports -10- representing two animals (figures 5 and 6). Their attachment
is made by spherical nuts -11- with an inside thread, in such a way that a filled
axis -12- is arranged on top of the ribbed body -9-, which is transversally attached
by the center through the central zone of the mentioned elongated body (figures 7
and 8), so that the ends of said axis -12- are attached to two parts in the form of
dummies -13- (figure 11) suitable to be received in respective holes -10a- made on
the mentioned lateral supports -10- in the form of an animal. These correspond to
the mouth of said animals represented on said supports (figures 9 and 10), permitting
the swinging of the elongated body resulting in the corresponding sliding of the seats
in the shape of a crocodile, opening and closing its mouth, and the swinging of the
toy ducks installed on the platform, alternately pecking at one and another feeding
trough as shown in the mounted set represented in figure 1.
[0019] Finally, it should be mentioned that the elongated body -6- has some lower extensions
on its ends finished off with two butts -14- that absorb the impacts against the floor
of said elongated body -6- during its descending movement.

molded parts, easily assembled by means of mutual assembly between parts and the use
of conventional tools. This seesaw has a basically rectangular platform (1) on the
ends of which handles (2) are mounted by means of caps installed under the vertices
of said platform. This platform (1) is suitable for mounting with four spherical nuts
(11) on means (5) combined with same, that symmetrically surface from the center of
an elongated and symmetrical body (6) the ends of which have been provided with two
seats (7). A ribbed body (9) has been provided that is joined by tongue and grooved
means to two lateral supports (10) representing two animals. Attachment is made by
spherical nuts (11) with an inside thread, with the peculiarity that there is a filled
axis (12) on top of the ribbed body (9) which is transversally attached by the center
through the central zone of the mentioned elongated body, in such a way that the ends
